and i just posted it in my facebook status so they will probably get bombarded with free subs.

Hey y not? The worst that will happen is I throw the mag into the recycling bin.

I find it interesting to see various magazines scrambling to maintain readers in the economy to appease theri advertisers. Many have completely shut down and many other have tried to adopt strategies to remain in business. Giving away free subscriptions is actually really smart since most of the revenue comes from advertising space anyways.

just make sure you don't forget to cancel after the free subscription ends.

maxim doesn't care how many people get the magazine. as long as the circulation goes up, they will make more money selling ads. the more people that receive the magazine, even for free, the more people look at ads.

This is probably legit.

I've been getting Maxim free for like 5 years now. Mine will expire in about a year from now, but will just renew.

For magazine subscriptions, there are quite a few tricks to getting it cheap.

Here's the easiest way:

In the US, they have promos for FREE magazines or like $1.00 subscriptions all the time. However these are only available to US addresses.

Just sign up for these US Promos and use a random address (I usually use Hotels as that is the easiest, and the hotel won't call and be like WTF are these magazines).

In about 1 or 2 months, login in to the Magazine website and change your contact information to your address in Canada.

I've done this for dozens of magazines, and haven't had any issues at all.

If you need more clarification, just google something and i'm sure there will be tons of threads about how to get free US magazines in Canada. Pretty straight forward though.
