Joss Weatherby - Hanabi EP [Ambient/Chill Out/320Kbps]

So bored, and the 4th of July is soon, and I love fireworks... so here is a fireworks themed ambient track.

1. Joss Weatherby - Hanabi (10:46)
2. Joss Weatherby - Signalcation (6:16)

Please comment and enjoy!

Hanabi: Love the use of crowd noises, and the fireworks toward the end. For me it adds a mysterious element to the track, like "What are they celebrating?" (if you know, don't tell me: I'd rather remain in the dark about it). The floaty part around 5:00 - 5:45 reminds me of the soundtrack to Traffic, by Cliff Martinez, which I really enjoy. After this point it does seem to drag a bit until the last few minutes when you add the fireworks and some other elements back in. All in all still a very nice piece of music, though.

Signalcation: I like that thing in the background that sounds vaguely like a didgeridoo. This is an enjoyable drone piece. Pretty evocative, makes me think of walking through a canyon on a blazing summer day. Toward the end it reminds me of the darker stuff on Eno's Apollo: Soundtracks with those mysterious delayed noises of uncertain origin.

Yea, I know what you mean, I am not entirely happy with how long it goes through there... it seemed sorta jumbled.

The video I got the sample from for that part had two different parts and I was thinking about only using the second part, but things didnt really seem to fall into place right either way.

But yea, its a bit long at almost 11 minutes for something that essentially only uses 3 instruments.

I should have expanded more on the Stars of the Lid-esque far off sound thats used in teh main instrument at the start.

I applaud you.

You are so talented, Mr Weatherby, dude. I swear. If I'm ever bouncing around on your lap, nibbling your earlobe, please be sure to sign your autograph on the inside of my upper right thigh with indelible pink ink.

I need to start a Joss Weatherby fanclub or something. We will be famous.
