UFC 100 this weekend...

This is arguably the biggest UFC card ever...

who's watching?

and who are you picking?

I honestly thought it was going to be bigger then this, but that aside it still is a pretty big fight card considering the amount of title contenders that aren't fighting for a belt. I'm taking Mir, Bisping, G.S.P. and Fitch. As far as the other fights go they don't matter to much to me. I would've liked to see one more belt on the line or even maybe Griffin vs Silva.

My cousin told me to get tickets for it, since we are going to be over there, but when I saw the prices. No way am I going to see guys hug each other on the ground for $500 in the upper rows.

My picks...

Mir - deep down I think Lesnar is going to win, but I can't bring myself to pick him)
GSP - The guy just gets better and better. Alves is a monster, but for some reason i don't think it will even be close.
Hendo - Bisbing has had trouble with great wrestlers, and Hendo is as good as they come.
Fitch
Akiyama
Bonnar
Danzig
Jones

If you think about it, they really can't have more than 2 title fights on a card like this. Yeah it would make for an epic card, but it would totally fuck with future cards, as title holders usually only defend 2-3 times a year.

This card is pretty sick! Too bad I'm gonna miss it. I tried to change my wedding day as soon as they announced it but for some reason my woman was not having it!

Mir - I hate seeing this guy ever lose, it's so tragic...I also think if he can use his ground game he has a good chance at submitting Lesnar. Come on Mir! I really can't stand looking at Lesnar!

GSP - Alves is super tough but I can't pick against my boy now. I hope he wears his blue tighties!

Hendo - Better dominate!

Fitch
Not Bonnar, can't remember who he fighting, but not Bonnar...he had one epic fight, let's just leave it at that.

Ew Bisping, are you serious! I always win the picks, always!

I guess I'm the only one who wants Brock to win?

I'm not saying that I want Bisping to win, I just think that Henderson is past his prime and Bisping is in his prime.

I really like and respect Brock, but I really like Mir as well. I just don't think Brock's ground game has improved enough to take Mir on the ground (which is most probably where the fight will end up).

I would however love to see Brock win and then see a Brock vs. Fedor superfight (which Dana White won't allow to happen so I'm dreaming).

Hendo in his prime and Bisping in his prime, two very different things imo.

True, it would make things boring for later fight cards. They'd have to do two live and free events instead of one just to make up rev.

Brock is lame he's a paper champion he beat The Natural whos almost 50, and he couldn't even keep him on the ground or get of the cage. Also you'll notice he hasn't fought anyone who throws high kicks. I don't think he knows quite how to defend against them yet. He's still very knew and some day maybe great but right now he is still learning on the job so to speak.

Hendo is out of his prime he is almost 40. The Count is gonna murder him easy 2nd rd TKO.

I agree that Hendo isn't in his prime but what I meant was Hendo in his prime would easily dominate Bisping in his prime. Regardless of prime-ness lol, I still pick Hendo.

well, you're definitely in the minority. lol

My dislike for Brock comes from the way he's acted before and after fights.

The guy has fought 4 times, total. He is 3-1...not bad at all. But the guy talks about himself like he's the best in the world right now, calling out guys like Fedor, etc...

Simmer down Brock.

Yeah this is true if Hendo were Bispngs age people would be feeling for him. In his prime Hendo was one of the best hands down.

I'm excited to see Jon Fitch too, he never disappoints.

Is he? His only recent losses are to Silva and Rampage. He looked great against Rich I thought in his last fight.

I'm curious what your basis is for picking Bisbing via murderous TKO in round 2 is lol..Hendo has never been knocked out...ever. I don't even really remember him ever getting hurt for that matter.

Bisbing has had serious trouble with good wrestlers...see Hamil and Rashad...Hendo is a better wrestler than both of those guys, and has an iron chin.

I see a fairly boring, decison win from Hendo. One where he takes Bisbing down a couple times and implements some ground and pound.

Posted by Zack Roth on Jul-07-2009 18:47:

You also have to take into consideration level of competition and experience. Hendo has been in with the BEST in the world, and has faired quite well, racking up a shit load of wins against top 10 guys. Bisbing just beat Chris Leben lol.

Posted by noskizza on Jul-07-2009 21:57:

I'm base this on Hendos age hes almost 40. Theres no way hes keeping up with the count. Number 2 is that Bisping has evolved as a fighter hes one of those type of guys who gets better everytime he fights. He also switched camps since those last two fights you mentioned which makes a world of difference. 3 is that Hendo hasn't evolved as a fighter hes still the same. Bisping watches a lot of tape and trust me has a great plan for Hendo. 4 IMO Hendo looked very sloppy against and I personally don't think he won that fight, Rich did. Also against Boxers Hendo doesn't fair well. Bisping has better boxing, submissions, and is a smarter fighter. Thats why I belive he will get the win.
