don't forget the fire sale ends today at midnight!

It didn't work for me. LAX to Denver was $79 each way. I'm pretty sure that I followed all their guidelines.

Posted by R!CH on Jul-08-2009 19:50:

are you booking on friday and/or sunday? if not i would try calling customer service to have them lock in the deal for you manually.

edit: i just made a quote for sept 10 to 17 lax to den and i got the $60 roundtrip wanna get away deal.

Posted by rizo on Jul-08-2009 20:23:

thanks! hmm chicago visit? maybe denver. going to look into it when i get home

Posted by R!CH on Jul-08-2009 20:28:

the servers are rammed right now. you might get an error message your first try submitting a query, but if you persistently resend with the back button, well i got through after 10 tries.

There are a limited number of tickes are the cheap price per flight, then it goes up. How it always works.
I am checking LAX --> DEN myself and I am also getting $79 for a lot of non-Friday/Sunday dates on some or all flights fr that day.

i have ding but this deal blows away everything they've had on ding in the past, which is why i made the thread. it even made news headlines. it was also a great way for me to promote lovevolution on all the other usa forums

Ehhhhh, I've flown between LAX and SFO at $29 each way this year on Southwest...

The setup of his sale is unique with how it uses miles to determine cost and I'll admit it caught me at first, but there have been plenty of sales this year where in the end it's all pretty much the same prices as this sale...as they were route-based.

I have flown $29 each way between SFO and LAX/LGB on Southwest, Jet Blue, and Virgin at points this year...or maybe going back to late 2008, but you get the point! And I've seen the sale pop up a bunch more times.....similar deals to Vegas, but maybe $34 instead of $29 sometimes. In every case except maybe one or twice, though, it's been one day sales if I recall correctly.

I've also seen plenty of deals between LAX and Denver at $54-59 this year. I've been trying to get to Denver myself. Just haven't been able to get dates to lineup well and right now I'm broke. :-p

I haven't seen Southwest do the deal in awhile there. Same for Virgin, though I've seen it more recent than Southwest. I flew on Jet Blue at $29 or $28 each way in March, but have seen the deal pop up for a day here or there since. I think I even got a United flight for $58 round trip once, too....but that was still back when it would be like $49 one way, then just $10 for the round trip. United and Delta have more recently made their costs event each way, luckily....Would piss me off when I'd flight a roundtrip flight on United or Delta for like $99 roundtrip, but I wasn't sure when I wanted to return yet so I only wanted one way...then it'd be $89 by itself. Now it'd just be $49 each way.

Will stop babbling now!

How do you find out about these one-day deals? I remember flying to vegas for $29 as well, but this was years ago.

Omar, thanks bro. I signed up for their email DING.

Honestly, most of the time people send me a message on AIM or something letting me know. Especially if an Airline is having a suprise firesale that's only gonna last like 4 or 8 hours but it's not really publicized but people catch it. I've been a victim of not buying too fast with those....I'll be checking for flights, check at like 2pm and it'll be expensive still but for some reason check at 10pm again and then the price is half of what it was, conteplate buying it, finally decide to at like 11:05pm, go into it and the price will by much higher again. Not necessarily as high as it was early in the day, but def enough different to hate myself for not buying the ticket when I first saw the low price.

...I have DING BTW, and sometimes I don't seem to get a DING for a killer sale they are having. Dunno if it's just hiccups in the system or it was unintentional.

ding had burbank to oakland at $30 today. i tried burbank to sf and was gettin $99 yesterday!
had to work with lax

with all the flight/hotel deals that we Ta's post, there is no excuse for other ta's to complain in late september about how theyu wish they were coming out for love evolution. SO cal people can pay $30each way on flights and get hotel rooms in the union square area under $65 a night. 4 nights + airfare under $400.

Well, the thing with LoveFest is most people would want to fly in on Friday, which this sale doesn't cover.

Most would also need to fly back the sunday, which this sale doesn't cover.

so, for most people, this sale doesn't really help them go to LoveFEst. :0

i was sick last year for 2 days so couldnt go to work. i would think others would do the same.

last yeas thursday night had axwell at vessel and sunday was ferry at ruby. so im sure people would want to be around thur-sunday if they had a chance.

Posted by R!CH on Jul-09-2009 00:27:

ya ya ya they've offered similar pricing to select destinations in the past, but by their own account "it's never been this on sale". and i know a lot of people that didn't fly in for lovefest on friday or leave on sunday. even if that was your plan, people have vacation days and this deal plus the thursday and sunday parties provide the incentive to use 1 or 2. not to mention more than 1 out of 10 people don't have work friday or monday.

Posted by DaveT on Jul-09-2009 01:16:

Please note, "most" people out there aren't TAs. TAs don't count. lol

Posted by DjWoody on Jul-09-2009 01:54:

I can't recall a time when ANY airline had $30 from Orange County to San Francisco!!!! That's a bargain! The dates for Lovefest are $30!!! I just checked!

Yeah, that includes me...Lovevolution is on the worst date in October for me to travel, I can't take Friday or Monday off from work...

BUT, I just arranged with a friend to drive from LA to SF on Friday and booked a flight back Monday morning for $40.60 including taxes! Thanks Southwest, for making all things possible!

Virgin is having the same $30 deal.. Not sure when it will be over.
