Can you handle the Truth? - The Enquirer [Paparazzi Edition]

Just thought I might start a thread on the rumours that you might have heard over the past years about your favourite DJs. In no way are these information true, just what I heard off people and forums...please don't take it so hard.

Here's what I heard:

Rumour #1 : Tiesto does not like to work with his fellow Dutch talents, Armin & Ferry.

DJ Tiesto, very much my favourite Trance DJ, once said that most of his collaborations with Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten are mostly his ideas. That he had to collaborate with him as he has no studio to work in.

As you may have known, Ferry Corsten and Armin have their own studios where they spend lots of time in.

Therefore, DJ Tiesto was "sick" of all these collaborations and decided to strike out on his own with his "Tiesto Solo Tour" back in 2001. Rumour has it that he prefers to take full credit for his work.

Source : Heard from some guys down at Solid Sounds Records based in Toronto (now defunct). Don't really believe this shit. I believe ideas of creativiy lies in the human brains, technology does help. I don't think Tiesto will diss his fellow countrymen like that.

However, when I heard the news of Tiesto splitting from Gouryella, this rumour came back to me, whether or not I believe in this, it seems to connect in someway or another.

Other Papparazi news:

News #1 : Paul Van Dyk @ Zouk, Singapore 1998 or 1999.

Story: Just before Paul was supposed to spin at the very Pacha, Ibiza style club called Zouk in Singapore, the management at Zouk told him to go easy on the crowd. They requested Paul Van Dyk to spin house music. OK.....WTF?? House...getting a German Trance/Techno to play house at a club is simply ridiculous. Anyways, Paul ignore those fookers' request and tore the house down with his pumping tunes...

News #2: Tiesto's Record Stolen at Pearson Airport in 2000

Story: DJ Tiesto landed in Toronto, due to spin that night at Guvernment discovered half his records were missing from his record box. So he went on down to Solid Sounds at College Street to buy some records. The owners there offered him free records...one of them is Katana - Silence which he spun that night.

Verdict: Lots of Tranceheads working at the Airport, lol!!! Beware!

News #3 : Ferry Corsten in Singapore : Promoters Made a Loss!

Story: You would think that Ferry Corsten who made such a huge impact on the Trance scene all over the world would make you some money. Wrong. The promoters in Singapore suffered a major loss despite a large turn-up. Ferry Corsten was originally scheduled to play on a ship capable of holding 4000 people max. It never went through, although a Trance event on a ship is still unheard of.

Verdict: Know your local scene before spending such a large sum in bringing in such a famous DJ to spin.

That's all folks...share your stories if you wanna...
