who is this guy anyways?

i�ve listen to some tracks and remixes from him for about 6 months now and he totally roxx!

Ever since he started out as a DJ back in 1985, Joost van Bellen has been innovating both himself and the Dutch DJ scene. When he joined legendary Amsterdam club RoXY in 1987, Van Bellen started laying down the foundations of Holland�s house scene, lifting the spirit of his audience with his stompin� black power grooves. Van Bellen was the initiator of the Amsterdam Love Ball, a yearly held charity event for the Dutch Aids Fund, featuring the world�s greatest artists, DJ�s and fashion designers creating one of Europe�s most impressive parties. In that same period (1990-1995) he was the club�s artistic leader and head of Public Relations. In the meantime, he was playing his energetic sets all over the world; Gay Pride Africa in Johannesburg, MTV in London, Hamburg, Paris, New York, Ibiza, Dance Valley, New Frontier, Heineken Horizons and Mysteryland. He was responsible for the musical direction of various fashion shows such as Turn-Over, Scapa Of Scotland, Claudia Strater, Smirnoff Fashion Awards, Aziz Bekkaoui, Robijn Fashion Awards, Saskia van Drimmelen and the Loveball Shows by J.P. Gaultier, Rifat Ozbek, Paco Rabanne, Fred Sathal and Veronique Leroy, and he produced the music for the entrance of the athletes during the opening and closing ceremonies of the Amsterdam Gay Games. Furthermore, Van Bellen provided a fistful of mix CD�s and compilations: �Loveball 4�, �Nightclubbing� volumes 1, 2 and 3, �Speedgarage� and �Speedfreax vol.1�. In 1997, he started Speedfreax, a series of culturally inspired parties where music (UK underground garage), theatre, art, poetry, fashion and new trends in lifestyle are playing the central role. Home base of Speedfreax is Amsterdam, but there have been editions in Rotterdam, Utrecht, New Frontier, Dance Valley and Ibiza. In the near future, Speedfreax will spread their wings and fly to New York, Miami, Pargue and, again, Ibiza.
