-- a question for peeps that have been around the "industry" for a while
a question for peeps that have been around the "industry" for a while
Has the industry (labels) gotten less selective in what they put out there because of the ease of throwing something out on beatport and seeing if it'll fly with the general listener/buyer?
edit: i know it's a pretty expansive question. let's put a time frame on it. let's say now (2009) compare to 2005 - in a 4 year span.

so what you're saying is... cow noises sell records?
Its industry standard mate..
No im saying if it is ' in ' , it'll be released , if it is a beautiful piece of music , but wil fail to please what is ' in ' , probably it wont be considered. , its pop music culture , its just spreading thats all.
Something that I have noticed is the increasing amount of labels that pretty much give out the impression that they put out everything they receive.

it depends on the label really.
if you look at the established labels, not too many of them release 5 ep's a week like the upstart mp3 only labels.
