Exclamation Good Online Recordstores

okay maybe a good idea to post all of ya record stores where you thought that there was good service/shipping/prices etc..!! i'm not into vinyls etc but it would be damn handy!

(so if a mod could make this one sticky!)

Posted by neo geo on Jun-23-2002 17:52:

they are great for old out of print stuff
www.gemm.com
www.musicstack.com

Posted by _Nut_ on Jun-23-2002 23:30:

www.dancegrooves.com

I use this alot. Shipping of about (based on my last shippment) $28.00 USD per 30-40 or so vinyl. Yes I went nuts and that is Airborne express from the Netherlands to Illinois, USA. They have a great selection of trance, progressive and techno. Good stuff.

How fast does the delivery take? Also on their website they talk a lot about possibilities of "not having records in stock" and that "your order can take up to 8 days to be processed," so I was wondering. And in case an order gets lost enroute, it may "take up to 6 months to process a claim."

dancegrooves.com looks really appealing as an online store, but I'd like to know how long it takes (overall) to get your records.

www.chemical-records.co.uk

best prices around

one of the biggest trance choices

lowest shipping costs

FASTEST shipping ever

from the UK to Canada it usually takes me between 4 to 10 days to receive my 12" , i strongly recommend them

Question for those who has used web-records.com:
Do they accept other type of payment other than COD (which isn't available to many foreign countries) or Mastercard ... I've already got Amex and visa and it would be rediculous to sign up just so i could buy from them... so any idea?

about 8-10 days is all it takes. If the site has the song but there is no icon that says 'buy' then it is outta stock. But check what I got: (prices from Netherlands to US):

Three Drives Carrera 2 7.19x(1pcs) = 7.19 USD
4 Strings Diving 7.19x(1pcs) = 7.19 USD
DJ Hooligan Hear You Now 7.43x(1pcs) = 7.43 USD
Tastexperience Highlander 7.71x(1pcs) = 7.71 USD
DJ Tiesto In My Memory 14.95x(1pcs) = 14.95 USD

2Players Signet(RmXs) 8.98x(1pcs) = 8.98 USD
Oceanlab Sky Falls Down 5.17x(1pcs) = 5.17 USD
Solarstone Solarcoaster 8.98x(1pcs) = 8.98 USD
Paul Oakenfold Southern Sun (US) 13.07x(1pcs) = 13.07 USD
Push Tranzy State Of Mind 7.94x(1pcs) = 7.94 USD

Sub total: 170.14 USD
Your discound for non-EU countries - 1.19

New Sub Total 142.97 USD (152.1 EUR)

Shipping 21.39 USD

Total amount 164.36 USD (174.85 EUR)

Ijust placed this a day ago so you can see the current prices, and the southern sun and in my memory are double LP's, so shipping is based on 20 vinyl packages or 22 total records in weight. And this will be shipped to the USA (chicago)

Hope this helped.

www.dancegrooves.com is pretty decent although there stock isn't always accurately presented on their site. I once ordered about 20 vinyls but only got half of 'em even though they were listed as in stock on the site. Mind you they were older records so I wasn't too suprised. Still a great shopping site with cheap, fast shipping (about 3-4 days)...

www.juno.co.uk is great. I just ordered 10 records from them. Shipping took two days (over July 4th!!!) thanks to their discounted Fed Ex courier service for North Armerica (only 5 pounds!!!). There prices are cheap but the shippings a little more expensive then dancegrooves. Ends up being about the same...

I doubt they'll carry all the items they listed just like other Germans site... e.g. web-records. Anyway, it looks interesting and will give it a shot.

these people have been crap (and by that i mean fukkin awful):
www.cdzone.co.uk
www.htfr.com

Posted by Nautica on Aug-15-2002 15:10:

CDZone is the wierdest online store ever.

It looks like it was designed by a 5 year old, but they stock everything!

I've used them loads of times. Sure they take forever to ship but they had Ballroom - Come Along and no-one else did. Worth the wait? Oh yes! And when they do ship the vinyls are perfect and the packing is the best I've ever seen! Really thick card boxes, even for single records.

Plus some of the prices are silly cheap. I paid 2.36 for a Fred Numf 12" on Black Hole. 6.50 at Juno!
