Your all time favorite mix CD

We haven't done this thread in a while according to the search...


And I just bought Ewan Pearson's Sci.Fi.Hi.Fi Vol1 and remembered how fucking great it is.

In terms of overall feeling and vibe it's my favorite by far.

Still wish I could find a copy of the Random Factor remix of Villalobos - Easy Lee

Freestylers - A Different Story...

This was my staple "getting ready to go out" CD for two straight years. Everything from hip-hop and hardcore to disco and reggae in about 65 frantic minutes.

I don't really listen much to mix CDs tbh, but the first ones that spring to mind and that i know i like are:

Henrik Schwarz Live
Booka Shade's DJ Kicks
Funk D'Void's Sci.Fi.Hi.Fi.

Rather hard to answer this question, as most of my contenders are double disc releases (and I assume we're talking about overall releases here), which often have quite a noticeable difference in quality between the two discs.

My immediate reactions are the first discs to GU: Reykjavik and GU: Paris.

I might also need to add the first disc to Zabiela's latest 'Masters' installment to that list, as well.

Being a relatively new convert to house/techno (last year and a half or so), I won't pretend to have knowledge of classic compilations in my favourite genres. If I really had to name the mix cds that have spoken to me most, I would have to put forward Sasha's GU 013 - Ibiza (particularly CD 1) and Fabric 38 - Steve Bug, an album recommended to me by a friend a year and a half ago that, upon the very first listen, brought me away from the cheese-house/dooka-dooka techno of funkagenda and deadmau5 et al and into deeper, darker styles of techno and house. Both absolute landmarks in my ablum collection.

Great mix of genres from Joof.



Love the GU series but none of them have standouts quite like the old Euphoria ones. Since MoS started pumping out the Euphoria albums I've stopped listening. The first couple were gash.

I've never actually been much of a mix CD kinda guy, I've always preferred artist albums and unmixed tracks but I do enjoy some of the mix CD's that are a bit more unconventional.

i haven't really been into any mix cd's recently but the ones that i have from back in the day that i still enjoy (guilty pleasure) are trance mix usa 1 by atb (laugh all u fuckin want lol) (probably listened to this mix more than any other thing i've ever listened to) and ferry corsten trancemissions 2

I have always been a huge fan of TTF up until vol 24, then I think it just went downhill. But if I had to pick one it would most def be this one :

Those two discs were fucking magical when I first heard them, and still do the job to this day.
