Favorite labels of 2009 so far?
What have been your favorite labels of 2009 so far? For me:
Freak N Chic
Contexterrior
Tsuba
Urbantorque
Wolf + Lamb
Circus Company
Spectral Sound/Ghostly
Playhouse
Raum...Musik
Vakant
Dial
Be Chosen
Wagon Repair
Mule Musiq/mule electronic
Cecille
Crosstown Rebels
Mobilee/Leena Music
Moon Harbour
Oslo
murmur
I'm probably missing some, but I've enjoyed pretty much everything coming out of those labels.
Wow too many to name
But I think I came to the conclusion yesterday that 2600 Records and Night Drive Music may just be my 2 favorite labels atm.
Duh, those labels have been putting out good music for a while
For me I've been enjoying discovering new and old stuff on labels I hadn't known much about before like Plug Research, Guidance, Late Night Audio, Mojuba
I went through Plug Research' catalog on beatport the other night and bought like 15 tracks.

Some of the ones mantioned +
Robsoul
Third Ear
Mimosa
Seasons Limited (the three or four releases lol)
Peng
Lomidhigh Organic
Echocord
Doubledown
Guesthouse
Running Back
Frankie
Elevation
Ostgut
Harthouse
Bpitch
Grouper
...off the top of my head.
Forgot to add the dutch labels like Remote Area, Intacto, and particularly 100% Pure, been going through their back catalogues recently and been finding absolute gems.
ROSH!
Minimal and Melodies Music
Plusquam Division
Underground Lessons
Silver Screen Recordings
Meerestiefe
Feiyr
Just a few standouts that have been really resonating with me this year.
Urbantorque also seems to have really picked things up.
Speaking of UrbanTorque, I wonder what they've got in store for their 100th release
Armada
Ajunabeats
Black Hol-
Oh, FAVORITE labels.
Uh. Lately I've just been buying up a lot of music from the 90s and early 2000s. I've been staying away from too much new stuff, focusing more on getting older stuff I've missed over the years.

Surprised Cadenza hasn't been mentioned yet. But yes, Cadenza, Compost, Trapez, Diynamic, and whatever M.in and Nick Curly release on.
Eskimo too
And yeah, forgot to mention Cadenza. I've been a bit disappointed with what's coming out of Compost this year though. It's still good, but it hasn't been up to par with the stuff they were releasing a year or so ago. Nick Curly owns Cecille/Cecille Numbers and 8Bit which is also a really good label.
whatever Vincenzo's stuff been coming out on. he's a beast so far this year. any deep house set i play i'm bound to go through 3-5 of his songs. f'ing amazing. he's like this year's scope. lol.
DFA Records
Rebirth
Vakant
Been disappointed with Poker Flat lately, they used to put out bangers every month.
And I hope Perlon releases something soon.
turbo is tearing it up so far this year. bpitch and rekids have put out some solid tunes as well
also loving different/[pias] although this is mostly because they've been releasing the singles from tiga's new album, lol
some of those mentioned and Polyphonics
Anjunabeats
delsin
rush hour
Platzhirsch
ostgut ton
the new clone offshoots have potential
Mule
Yore
I forgot to mention Cargo Edition too.
Pretty much same as posted above.
Desolat, Deep Vibes and Sushitech/Sushitech Purple are also worth mentioning imo.. for me at least.
Almost forgot Quintessentials - some nice stuff on there recently from Anton Zap, Knarf Skipson and Baaz.
