What a Deal! FabFilter Bundle $99 Today Only!

Just saw this on KVR and thought I'd share. MacUpdatePromo is selling FabFilter Volcano 2, Twin 2, and Timeless 2 all for $99. Today only! Yes, buying the bundle will give the PC version as well as the Mac version.

FYI - I got, installed it and everything works perfectly and these are the full versions. Registration through FabFilter was a breeze and now I've got nearly $500 worth of incredible filters, effects, and synth for $99. This works out great for me because Timeless (reg. $139) has been on my list of plugins to buy for some time now.

Can you give a quick overview of what they are and a mini review? I'm not overly familiar with the FabFilters

yeah do that

OK, here goes. First of all, FabFilter is well known for their very cool modulation routing - you just click a source, the available destinations light up, and you drag to the one you want and set the level. FF is also well known for their incredibly smooth filters. They also come with a ton of high quality presets, if that's your thing, but all of their plugins are very deep.

Twin 2 - incredible synth. I spent a few hours exploring it this evening and it has a very cool semi-modular layout. Looking at the GUI below, you'll see that the main window houses (L to R) the Osc's, filters, and FX. Clicking on the various controls will reveal additional parameters (it's pretty cool - watch the video). The bottom window is where you add modulators and you assign them as I described above (click/drag). I think it has 25 modulation slots - you only add what you need and the bottom window is scrollable from side-to-side, keeping the GUI pretty uncluttered even when you have some very complex modulation assignments. One of the seemingly coolest modulation parameters on this synth is the XLFO, which is like a combination of a standard LFO and step sequencer that can be used to create sequences and complex arpeggiations (no dedicated arp on this synth). This synth is surprisingly deep.

I agree with cryophonik here...Twin 2 is a great little synth.

Fabfilter plugs are fantastic

Are these Mac only?

EDIT - Haha I'm an idiot, I completely forgot what the OP said

Posted by Fledz on Jul-19-2009 11:07:

I just had a play around with these for 10min and......wow! SOLD!

These are absolutely fantastic and even though I don't really have time to produce right now, I'm gonna buy them anyway because I know I'll get plenty of use out of them in the future

How the fuck did I not come across this synth sooner!

I'll be picking this up for sure. I just had a play around with Twin2 and have already fell in love with it. I was also in need of a good delay plugin, so timeless will greatly benefit me.

all three instruments uses the same filters too, that was really awesome beacuse that filter was mental. especialy RAW 48db, so much distortion!!

I really need to start watching for stuff like this on kvr lol can't believe how much amazing stuff there is.

Sure beats using the shitty filters I was prior!

So, it's that good? Should I jump while the deal is hot? I don't mind spending money as long as it's good. What other filters should I be considering? I have GAS right now and could use some more toys for my already absurd studio.

Yes, it's that good IMO. The filters on these products are outstanding. IMO either Volcano 2 or Timeless 2 are easily worth $99 each. As far as filters go, my go-to filter plugin has been Tone2 FilterBank, but I think Volcano easily rivals it and may even be better for aggressive/dirty filters. Timeless is just an excellent delay/FX plugin with a huge array of effects, and, while I really didn't need another subtractive synth VST, Twin 2 will definitely be making its way into my tracks and is very easy to program/tweak.

Another note - after buying/registering this bundle, FabFilter offers you discounts on their other products. I'm seriously considering their Pro-C compressor, but I've never used it and haven't had a chance to check out the demo yet. Has anybody else here used it? Is it worth the $152 discounted price.

Cha-ching. Purchased.

I've used 'em before. You can do wild stuff with these 3. What a deal.

Loving these, beats the shit out of all my previous delay/filter plugins. Twin 2 is great also, it's slowly becoming one of my favourite softsynths.

Slowly? It was only 9 hours ago that you first had a play with it! I'd like to see a synth that quickly becomes one of your favourites.

But yes, thanks for the heads up Cryo, once again you have cost me some money...though not much money...

I could not keep my fingers away either. Really good deal.

And now lets play
