I'm Not Engaged Anymore...

Or at least I think that's what I'll be saying in five years or so.

So my girlfriend has a younger brother who's 10...And he is the fucking Antichrist. Gets away with practically everything because he is the baby of the family. His parents are pushing 60, I'm guessing they're just too tired of raising children (after 5 I can't blame them) so they don't discipline him at all. As soon as my girlfriend attempts to though, she get's accused of ganging up on him. He doesn't listen the first few times you tell him to stop, nor the 10th.

This mother fucker likes to make noises. CONSTANTLY. Beeping, yelling, monkey noises. Early in the morning and late at night. When people are trying to sleep. He doesn't give a shit.

Doesn't know how to feed himself at all. Wakes our asses up in the morning because he's hungry. Very picky too. If the little shit doesn't like it, off my ass goes to McDonald's just for him.

He went missing once after the last day of school. Missed the bus because he was at the playground instead. Decided to go to a friend's house without telling anyone. I missed work because the girlfriend's mom wanted her and I to go driving around all day looking for him. No one knew what the fuck was up until we finally got a call at night from the friend's parents. He came home and nothing was done about it.

He won't leave our dog alone. Always pushes my dog around, pulls his tail, and puts his hands in his mouth. My dog chomped on his finger once and his Mom went ape-shit, thinking he had contracted rabies. WE DON'T HAVE RABIES IN HAWAII. Wanted us to give the dog away, thinking her baby isn't safe.

I love kids...I get along with most of them. I can't stand him though. I just try to stay away from him, really.

Thing is, being the older brother figure I think I am, do you think I have the right to tell him to shut the fuck up/stop that shit? I never do...and I think it would be wrong to. But I really hate having to put up with his shit. If he was my own younger brother, I'd bash his fucking face in.

Yeah, big house. I wanted the girlfriend to move in with me but the parents won't have it. I pay rent.

Her parents won't let her move out?

How old are you and your gf?

Posted by Omega_M on Jul-19-2009 06:34:

don on the hat of a peoples' manager and handle the situation.

You will have to deal with this kinda situations all the time, with a variety of people, who, even though they are not 10, certainly behave as if they are.

They're old fashioned Filipino. She's to stay home and help raise the family (her younger brother and sister) until we get married.

She's 21, I'm 23.

good luck with the strict family ties.

i doubt theres much for you to do; at least thats why i figure why id very much rather marry into a white family

Pwned, I guess

You're living with the kid? So you're kind of a guardian for him?

Fuck yea, be a father figure. Don't be his big brother, be stricter. His parents don't give a fuck so someone has to. Deal with it now when it relatively harmless or deal with it later when he's 16, lying in a ditch somewhere having withdrawals from too much Ice and meth, as well as having contracted AIDS and Hepatitis earlier on in life.

train the dog to rape him.

damn Filipinos! My fiancee is Filipino and both our families have forbidden her from moving in with me unless we got married. My parents are deeply religious and her family has their own style (just as you say, for her to stay and help the family). I've heard the things both our families say about each other in terms of "corruption" and all that crap, I'm scared about what will happen when we all have dinner together.

I'd have no problem being that figure if I was given permission. I feel doing that though would be a big sign if disrespect to my girlfriend's parents. I really don't approve of what they're doing but I rather keep on good terms with them.

And it's not like I hate the boy...he's just really annoying. In the end I want the best for him. Most of this stuff is common for kids, and being as he's the girlfriend's brother, he's practically family. It's just annoying not being able to do anything. I guess the best thing I can do for now is have my actions be forwarded by the girlfriend.

Haha...our first dinner was hilarious. I have a Chinese/Caucasian background so our families are somewhat different. Both sides of the families have accents also so no one knew what the fuck each other were saying most of the time.

This is probably the biggest part I don't get also. They don't want her moving out so she can help raise the children, but when she tries she gets scoldings for trying to do so. From what she tells me things were a lot different with her and her older siblings. I've never seen her disrespect her parents, never (this is also why I know I have a keeper ). Maybe the U.S. culture has rubbed off on them, or they're just burnt out.

filipinos are the people that are in great numbers yet never really be taken serious of lmao

Posted by Banora on Jul-19-2009 08:46:

Just do something to indirectly make the kid fear for his life. Hire a cop friend to "arrest" him and laugh in his face when he's all 'omg HALP'.

I think that filipinos are just ashamed to be filipino so they pretend to be from some other country or from the country they immigrated in. So it never looks like there's a lot of them, but there are.

like overplaying their 1/64 spanish heritage, and thinking they know/are spanish because tagalog uses the same word for "but" as espanol...and you are just like,"errrr, are you really sure you're not adopted?"

However, one of my closest friends from HS is from Quezon City and is damn proud of his heritage.

Best idea yet. If you cant take any obvious steps in controlling the kid try some covert manipulation. Hes 10, he stupid (and obnoxious) and most of all easy to manipulate. Make that work for you until you get married, then ffs get out of that house if you value your sanity.

i had a problem like this before. i got rid of the problem. i killed him.

Posted by Rose on Jul-19-2009 13:51:

What the hell does this have to do with you being engaged?

Posted by Slylee on Jul-19-2009 13:56:

fuck that shit. you tell that little ****** what's up and if they have a problem with it, then they need to make sure he isn't left in your supervision because if he is, it's your way or the highway. end of story.

i mean i know it's rude to go disciplining other people's kids and i wouldn't do that either. but if it was a situation like yours where the kid is out of control and no one does anything and if he fucked with my dog...oh hell no. lol
