Logic 8 - No Sound from Media Browser Preview

Hi All

One of my mates has a problem I hope someone can help with. He cant get an audio file in the logic media browser to previous through his monitors. I've not used logic before so unsure what setting to check.

Would it be linked to the soundcard driver used?

You need to make sure the soundcard is selected in the preferences, then all audio associated with logic will be played through that. Just to troubleshoot this problem, make sure that soundcard is selcted as the main audio I/O device in system prefereces too.

In Logic's media browser, it does not automatically play the sample you click on - you actually have to press the little speaker icon at the bottom of the pane to get it play. Once a sample is playing however, you can just press the up or down arrows on the keyboard to auto play the next sample. Also make sure the volume slider next to the speaker symbol is turned up.
If that doesn't sort then he's got a weird logic problem that I've never heard of and cant help with.
