so I just an entire cat

first time I ran over some sort of animal. I felt pretty guilty, but not as bad as I thought I would. ****** started trotting along as if no one was on the street, and I had traffic on both sides so I had no where to move.

I didn't really look back or anything, but I definitely heard a clunk as I was passing over it, so I assumed he was a goner since I was going 45 mph or so.

what sorts of animals have you guys ran over?

this thread would have been better if it was labelled "so I just an entire cat!"

One time I thought I hit a squirrel but I think it lived. The other day I hit a bird, it was weird. I was going about 70-80 down the highway and it flew down INTO my car. I think it must have been injured, the way it was flying was very strange. Poor bird.

I often ride past dead animals on my cycling as I use a lot of country lanes. Last week was a pheasant and a squirrel, today was something I'm not sure of, maybe a cat, but it had a huge tyre mark across it's torso.

I was driving my car real fast to school and i saw a pigeon in the middle of the road walking. So i slow down a bit to see if it walks away or flies, still nothing. So im like, ALL birds move when you approach them so i didn't worry..

I felt a thump and i looked over my rear view mirror & saw a bunch of feathers everywhere BUT i did see the bird fly retardedly away- so i felt better

first time I decided to drive very fast, in the middle of nowhere on the way to a golf course, I got up to about 115 & a bird flew right into the grill & bounced over. My first thought was 'what a stupid animal. it probably dented the car!'

Posted by JD8180 on Jul-25-2009 17:36:

yeah I blame the cat for its stupidity and that made me feel a little better too.

and to bas: I've had a duck do a barrel roll off my windshield. I stopped the car and looked around and saw no sign of the duck... no idea what happened to it.

oh, and the cat I killed was a black cat. do you think I might be struck with bad luck or something?

we used to run over wild turkeys in high school, lol

they're so dumb they don't move out of the way, and they travel in packs, so we would mow them down, turn around and run the remaining ones over. looking back i would feel bad if they weren't so tasty.

you guys would pick them up and eat them after running them over?

no, but fuck we should've. i often like buying them in deli-thin slices and sandwiching them between two pieces of bread, with honey mustard.

Posted by jupiterone on Jul-25-2009 18:15:

i was driving 40-50, and these two birds were duking it the fuck out in the middle of the road, in the air. back up to the trees they go, then back down and duel it out again in the middle of the street, i keep driving thinking they'll be spared, but nope. one of them pulled a tricky maneuver and flew away while the other stayed in front of the car and watched the other escape. powwwwwwww, looked back and the thing was just chilling on the road, dead

then one time i was driving behind a friend of mine, and a squirrel came running across the road, got clipped by his front wheel, and did an inverted 360 kick flip in the air, kaaflap

I thought the same thing After I got home I though, "I better not have feathers and beaks and shit in my grill, I'm gonna be so upset"

Don't feel bad about running over pigeons, we have an arrangement.

A bird hit my windshield once but that's about it

Back in 2003, summer, when I first came to usa, before school started, I wanted to hike to the top of Mt Whitney which is the highest peak in the contigous states (only peaks in Alaska are higher). So a group of us are hiking, it's not even daylight yet (we left at like 3am because we want to hike up and down in one day)...and a bunny hopped onto the path in front of me. My boot was already going down and I saw the little bunny but I couldn't stop my boot... there's something about when you are hiking uphill, I dunno...I couldn't stop my hiking boot in motion.

I stepped on the bunny. It was terrible.

Did it live or did your massive 14/f/cali feet squish it ?

ive never ran any animal over but at work i dropped a pallet on a pigeon while i was stacking product away, they usually fly away as soon as a 5 ton forklift goes near them. obviously this one was a bit slow off the mark

Look, the birds know the rules. We look the other way on them crapping on statues and they move when we drive toward them. It's nature's law.

Posted by yukii on Jul-25-2009 20:37:

gee, idk if stu is gonna fancy your nature's law bas .. he might get ppuuuurrty upset..

either way, i hear it's good for paella

+1... oh, actually I kicked a rat once by mistake

Posted by The17sss on Jul-25-2009 21:19:

hit a bird not too long ago... it smacked the windshield, flew over my roof and ended up in the bed of my truck. haha.

About 8 years ago a fucking deer ran out in front of my car (a Jeep Cherokee at the time); I was going about 65 mph. The deer was mangled beyond recognition, and my car had about $3000 worth of damage to the front and side. Other than that, I've hit the usual.... squirrels, a cat once, birds... I'm on the road a lot so it's bound to happen.
