What would make you happy?

All too often, I read posts on the Atlanta forum (reliably one per thread, at least) complaining about or criticizing events that the poster may not have even been to. (Admittedly and in full disclosure, I have made critical posts about sub-par performances [i.e., DJ's not giving a shit] and venues with, let's say, "HR" issues.) So, since everyone seems to have their own two cents, let's at least make it productive. Here's your opportunity to speak your mind:

- What is your idea of the ideal event in this city? Please consider resources, budget, revenue potential, and the politics of navigating the cluster fuck that is the booking process.

- What is it that you most frequently dislike about the events you go to? Offer suggestions about how these situations can be ameliorated.

These things would make me happy:
Considerate venue staff
Reasonable prices (ie: I shouldn't have to pay as much to see Armin as I do for U2 if I don't at least get my damn seat!)
More reasonable hours if on weeknights

Get a venue with bouncers that realize your patronage is funding their paycheck, that doesn't bump the price $15 and hold the line, and doesn't end at 3AM Wednesday morning. I'll be dandy.

Bazzaar always made me happy each time I went. I'm really not all that picky.

...though it would be nice for a venue around here to get a Funktion or Phazon setup

Was hoping for a more Demoted response to the question "What would make you happy?"

i'd say a place to sit would be great. it doesn't even have to be a seat on a chair. just somewhere to rest in between dance sessions would be nice.

+ 2 for Funktion one System.

Any of our parties?!? lol.

Well the ideal club to me is Cielo. It's small enough to be intimate, but big enough to hold a decent crowd. The sound is out of this world. If I could take the staff and vibe at Bazzaar and have the sound and space of Cielo I would be in club heaven.

If you could take the intimacy of some of the smaller places like Lava and have that on a larger scale, then I would be very satisfied

Where is that?

- Small, intimate venues
- Quality sound
- Non-douchebag crowd
- Non-asshole staff

isnt that the mark ?

Posted by trancension on Jul-29-2009 23:12:

The Mark usually plays music I'm not that into.

I prefer a more trance sound/feel.

The Mark usually plays a house...minimal kind of sound.

small intimate venue and trance dont go together. As far as the other issues are concerned that seems to be a on going issue that remains unresolved in Atlanta. Opera is the only place trance is being brought to it seems...idk man. Come to the Forum, we will take care of you.
