Mac users. Question
so, i have an intel macbook from 06 and i'm trying to install leopard on it using discs from an 07 macbook, problem is when i try booting up the installer it says the software cannot be installed on this computer.
don't get it, are all the leopard discs that come with the computers dedicated to just THAT computer by computer ID or whatever? i really am sick of having tiger on my macbook
is there anything i can do to avoid this message? i work around of some sorts?
Yes the discs that comes with a mac can only be installed on that specific model. Nothing you can do about it except get a retail version.
Sucks, but yes thats correct.
Besides, Snow Leopard is around the corner. A couple of months away.
i thought Snow Leopard was out already?
or is this the retail version which isn't out but if you buy a Mac right now you get the non-retail install disc?
My Core Duo iMac probably needs a ram upgrade before going to Snow Leopard but the C2D Macbook should be able to handle it.
What are the minimum specs for Snow?
