Sad Tag's Trance Trip is no more

There it is on the news
Someone I know is now someone I knew

-Henry Rollins,
Saying Goodbye Again

Tag's Trance Trip (a prominent internet broadcasting station for those who didn't know) is among the first casualties of that CARP agreement the "Save Internet Radio" banners were warning about.
Hope the RIAA are damned happy.

You can visit the site and e-mail condolences at
http://www.tagstrance.com

Their final broadcast can be downloaded from

Okay... why???

RIAA's stupidity is getting WAY out of hand!

What next? Ban the NAME of every signed artist so you can't type them online?!?!?

Here's my thought... THe next target of the RIAA will be radio. Well since they play copyrighted songs, and can be copied/distributed. Why must they pick on the internet?

Bastards... I like Tags Trance Trip....

Did this happen to 1groove.com as well? The page suddenly didn't get any updates anymore, and suddenly all the programs were gone except the regular stream.Did RIAA get to them too?

Posted by mikefasssy on Jun-26-2002 02:58:

im going to fly a plane into riaa headquarters...

Posted by Serp on Jun-26-2002 03:27:

if the RIAA are successful in doing what they wish to achieve i am more than willing to bet that cd sales will easily half the current amount.

I think it's crap, how many of you guys on here rely on the internet for trance?, hell without it i don't know what the hell i'd be listening to right now!

Posted by Cafster on Jun-26-2002 03:45:

Ari (the owner of DI) did out the math on the forums. its over $250,000 per year for them. not looking to good

and the RIAA says they arent out to stop internet radio...bullshit

Posted by iMaGe on Jun-26-2002 08:28:

congress and the riaa are stupid. they aim to make a profit off something thats not there. most of these internet broadcasters often LOSE money because of bandwidth costs... CARP should've only applied to stations that do commercials and get 1,000$ every 30 second ad. just my 2 cents.

i don't see what the point is in deleting an internet radio station such as tag's trance trip....tag got all his stuff on vinyl or cd legally before he played it....

i mean what really are they gonna do next....ban FM RAdIO? good lord what a bunch of queers!!!!
