Yeah not surprised, hes been playing even worse this last 6 months.. I was curious just to hear just how bad it is!...
I was there and thought it was a fantastic day, the set got screwed by some dickheads climbing the rigging, and as mentioned the tracklist wasnt as great as it has been in the past (He played silence and suburban train quite early on..) saying that though it was highly enjoyable.
BTW, Anyone know who remixed coldplay - Scientist that he played that day? that part was incredible, 25,000 people singing along to that in the open air
oh and no encore... Boo!
lol

Oh and there was one track he player after elements of life i think, im sure nobody knows what that was.
Also I havent heard the remix of in the dark he played. Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
This was no way as good as the O2 last year , and some are praising the idiots who climbed the speaker towers and put a slight stop to his set , and there was too much singalong for me , its a rave for christs sake , but he did play a few good numbers , albiet with lashings of shit.
Sounded quite commercial on You Tueb. I am seeing Tiesto in Ibiza on 14th September!
I bet he can't wait!
some vids on youtube of his latest sets havnt really impressed me, when i was at creamfields last year he played an absoloutly blinding set, the tunes he picked were all brilliant, now i see him playin girly remixes of the kings of leon etc, i wouldnt want to go to see him to play that type of tune, i am going to creamfields again at teh end of the month, i hope his set is as good as last years

With risk of being labelled fanboy, i'm quite enjoying the new direction. Its first time in 3-4 years that i really enjoyed a tiesto show (when he played similar in Vienna). The mixture of crossover warmup stuff, (good) pop remixed, and then ending on trancers... it just makes the set have more variety than just 4 hrs of trance, which is totally tedious thanks to todays stale scene.
I welcome a change in direction, even if that direction is sometimes not done very tastefully (Benny Benassi - I'm A DJ? c'mon Tijs!) at least its a CHANGE... and not just a.n.other 4hrs of the latest tracks from his label buddies. There is a chance this will not appeal to strict EDM or strict TRANCE fans, but he's grown out of this scene, into something else now... fairplay if he wants to embrace other styles in his sets because of it.
Sometimes this isn't going to not work at all, in a place where trance or EDM just isnt MIXED with pop for example...but times are changing, these types of sets are becoming more acceptable to the riff-raff because genre boundaries and eclectic mixes are all the rage in major dance scenes, like England and Holland. Tiesto finally woke up smelled some coffee and decided to add some of the current dance trends into his sets (even some 'melodic' dubstep during clublife).
This may look like shite on paper, but i can bet that the atmosphere was electric, because instead of 10 vocal-prog-trancers from Cosmic Gate and the like, there were 10 pop songs remixed, where everyone in the crowd could sing-al0ng and enjoy it. He's making a huge party.... let them have their fun. It's getting outside of the "inner circle" or "clique" that could be considered EDM or trance scene anyway... so why not play to the crowd in front of him... who are predominantly going to react more to hearing a remix of Empire of the Sun or Kings Of Leon, instead of the latest Jennifer Rene.
Its not everyone's cup of tea, but he has his place in this niche now... so be it.
