Livesets being sold on e-Bay, WRONG OR RIGHT???
I just decided to stop over at www.ebay.com in search of DJ Tiesto's Magik series at a good price, HOWEVER, most of the material I saw was LIVE MIXES by him, including 2002-02-02 - Live at Dutch Dimension! I was shocked! I NEVER thought that people actually SELL these on the 'Net!
Now, as a test I decided to punch in Paul van Dyk and Ferry Corsten in the search field and up came the same: Livesets. My question is: What's your opinion on it? Do you think it's OK to sell this kind of material on the 'Net (they sell EVERYTHING else on there so, this isn't obscure)? Why or why not? Please give examples to show your point of view. Also, it took me less than 2 minutes to find all of this...
if it is legal then i think i may have to start :P
dont let tiesto14 find out about this. . .he is the biggest liveset whore i have ever seen
are they only buying the rare livesets? or are they buying everything and anything i wonder
if people want to buy them, i dont really think its wrong. Just stupid. . .
supply and demand rules all
Personally I think it is wrong. Making money off things that are freely available just rubs me the wrong way.
However, having said that for people who aren't aware of the live sets being made available or who can't find a liveset then it could be seen as being useful.
I still disagree with the whole thing though.
I don't see anything wrong with it, if people are willing to pay for the convenience of doing this then what's the problem? It's no different to Audiogalaxy putting ads on their site and spyware with their software. If you're OK with downloading mp3's then slagging this off is just hypocrytical.
its legal to sell them but ur a bit stupid if u buy them.
so they can do that all they want, fools!

well.. i don't think it's fair that anyone should make money of someone elses work.
Its illegal to sell them.
technically known as bootlegs, its something that's always happened, i remember going to local markets and traders there having dodgy music cassettes with live sets on them, usually very badly recorded too.
Ebay will usually end the auction of stuff like that if they are notified of them.

It's lame.
I've banned users from the site for basically downloading stuff from here and then going there and selling it.. what the fuck is that.. I don't pay for servers to have people turn around and make a profit on it.
Idiots.
I once actually bought live-sets off of EBay. It was because I had a 56k and getting livesets off of napster at the time w/ a 56k was very hard. I bought 5 sets, 4 out of the 5 turned out to be rare PvD sets (I know they are PvD sets and I've never see anyone else who has them except those that I have shared with).
This was still wrong though. IMO people should not be doing this.
just curious how many livesets do u guys have?
i have about 15 gigs, 200 sets aprox....
although thats nothign compared to one of my friends who has 700+ and another who has 500+

Even if it isn't right, i think its fair for those 56kers, who dont really get to hear live sets, fak, if i had a 56 k, i'd buy 'em too.
