Music production and health problems

Do you have any sort of illness that prevents you from music production? My problems is poor eyesight which doesn't let me spend a lot of time in front of PC screens, restricts me from going in for some species of sports etc. I suffer a lot from such restrictions. What can usually be advised in such situations? I can't just give up music, because making music is one of the factors that makes me happy.

Get a 'visor' or 'glass filter' for your monitor. They reduce glare from the screen, so that there isn't much strain on the eyes.

Well, my Tinnitus sucks and restricts me in many ways. I have my Tinnitus more than 10 years, so I got used to it. There are some days where I can't even listen to music at all, but it's ok, cause I know that the next days will be better.
My advice for you is to get the most out of the available time you have.
In my case I produce when my ears are ok, when my ears are not so good, I read some books or tutorials about music production.

Do what Kismet7 does. Eat healthy and excercise. Also, get some Vitamin A(nalogue) into your diet.

If my power goes out I'm suddenly no longer a musician. I think I'm going to sell all my equipment and buy a djembe and a native american flute... go live on a mountain...

my girlfriend has almost no sight in one eye and poor sight in the other and she is on her mac all day.

She also is using logic etc to record her guitar and she does a production course with me at uni so she can manage. She just does the best she can

a bit off topic as i dont have any health problems... but i always wondered about people who live in elevated areas, if they're more prone to hearing problems/hearing injuries because of the added pressure..

Higher elevation....more pressure. The air is much more dry as well. Sinus infections can become a problem, and if you're a visitor from a low lying area be prepared to deal with some major drying out of the nose and vocal chords.

yeah, like up in the mountains for instance... normally when i take a drive to an elevated area my ears will pop, and go wild to the point where it's nearly unbearable to listen to music

and i never had put 2 and 2 together in regards to the drying out of the vocal chords, a few days ago, i drove to vermont USA, by the time i was up there my throat was extremely soar, for no apparent reason...

High elevation means lower pressure, not higher pressure, because the air is less dense. The closer you get to outer space, the thinner the air gets.

I "produced" on Sony MDR-V700s for almost 2 years, and it really fucked my ears up. Compounded by the fact that I've been to hundreds and hundreds of loud ass punk/metal/rock shows locally where they play everything too fucking loud. I have a tiny bit of hearing loss now, with some tinnitus.

Now using monitors and producing at very, very low volume until I do a final mix, then I blast it
