Samplers

Hey guys, I'm still a fairly new DJ but I'm thinking now that I've got the basics pretty much down packed, I'm considering buying a sampler to spice up my sets. Throw in some acapella's/vocals into some tracks, kinda like a live mashup I guess.
So here's my question to you guys that have used samplers and currently own them...
What would be the best one price/quality wise, nothing too crazy?

Yeah, as above, I would suggest a laptop, they are a lot more flexible. You might need a MIDI controller as well but if your only doing samples a simple and cheap two octave keyboard should do fine.

So how does it work through the laptop? Just a brief explanation.

you plug the sound card out on your laptop into a spare channel on your mixer, this way, the audio coming out of your laptop going into your mixer, then you have your samples on your laptop and use whatever software/controller combo you like to play the samples when you want.

An external sound card will be a lot more flexible and give better quality sound than the sound card already in a laptop but you can add these things later, if your only doing samples from the laptop the built-in will do for a start.

The software and hardware you use will mean different ways of triggering the audio but you should be able to work that out when you decide what your going to use.
