yes, but the majority of the population that votes think these are the best DJs. That have to mean something.

more of a showmanship contest... who can produce the most appealing albums... dance around on stage the hardest... have the biggest shows... have a good image... etc.

but the truth is; they ARE djs. & all of the aforementioned traits are part of what makes a dj a more 'fun' dj, & clubbers go out to have fun.

I understand what you guys mean, and I agree. But there is something special with the the "big" Djs, at least live. And Tiesto for example, is very good on remix other tracks, and have some good tracks himself. but there are many other "unknown" DJs who are much better than those on the top ten.

this is the problem with the DJ Mag Poll. All the idiots who believe that "remixing" and "producing" got anything to do with DJ:ing.
This is the reason why we have Infected Mushroom and BT so high up.

Also there is no way to objectively rank a DJ, or music for that matter. This isn't sports, there is no DJ statistics anywhere so what is the fucking point. You are going to party and dance your face off the same whether you see the #5 DJ or the number #13432 DJ. So who cares? Of course you will have your personal favourites, but that doesn't mean you can somehow make a universal list. The idea is pointless.

If you can not rank them, then you can not say that some Djes are better than others. But thats not the fact, couse some Djs are better then others if the play the same style/genre.
But the problem is in fact the comercial. It is a reason that the same Djs win every year, also the years when they havent done enything good.

But they all have some good track, and they are professional good Djs. But the problem is that it is hard to reach out in the musicbuisness, and thats why just they whit the best name, logo, style, "music" and so on win things like this.
