-- WC: Goal Keepers?

HappyHappy WC: Goal Keepers?

Whose your favorite world cup goal keeper? I vote for Kuba Khan. This guy is wicked.

With the game today, or yesterday whatever, that one goal on South Korea was cool, but it was the fault of the Korean goal keeper. He should have caught the ball the first time the German made a shot, but no, he didnt, he hit it back to the german forward, and Germany scored.

The Korea goalie was pretty good too. It would be cool if germany won against brazil in the final, because that would be kinda cool.

Go kubal khan of Germany!

its too bad england was gone, i was hoping they would win. they just didnt try hard enough.

euh just for the record it's Oliver Khan, kubla Khan is another guy
I must admit he's the best goalkeeper of the tournament, ugly and stupid face(reminds me of Paul from spin city),really fucked up attitude BUT he's got the most skills,he has even got the appreciation by our famous keeper Pfaff.

but IMO the most beautiful save is not by him

Kahn what can i say ...honeslty i havent seen a keeper better then kahn ever in a Cup.... which was so dominating in the game..when he retired he needs to be a keeper coach ... to pass on the tricks of the trade and the skills ..lol

lol yes it is 'Oliver' Kahn and yes he is the best keeper this year without any doubt. Seman did well until the Brazil game and the Turkish keeper didnt do to badly! Most memorable as always is the Paragauy keeper with his awseome outfield skills!

AH HAHAHAHAHA..

kubla (kublai) khan was the grandson of ghengis khan! hahaha....

there sure are a lot of olivers on team germany, =P.... damn them... they elminated korea... stupid refs, =P.

Personally I think the Saudi Arabia keeper is real quality, his positioning is second to none, especially against Germany when Oliver Bierhoff scored, he was very unlucky that went in, his positioning there leaving half of the goal completely unguarded was just supreme

Casillas isn't incredibly lucky,if you watch those penalties he took, you see him wait untill the player shoots the ball!
I believe that Marcos also played a good tournament,he really helped the brazilian team in certain moments!

very good goalie, just need some xp

There can be only one --> Jose Luis Chilavert!!!

Even tho Paraguay didn't get that far, and Germans beat them just by pure fucken luck, Chilavert is still the man! Yes, he did get a little chubby, and all that, but hey... respect! RECOGNIZE!

chilavert is so FAT now, he barely walk

Posted by Crazy Serb on Jun-28-2002 10:02:

Hehehe, well that's exactly what I am talking about --> even this fat and chubby he is still better than 90% of goalies in the world cup!

Posted by cyberia on Jun-28-2002 10:18:

IMO Chilavert didn't played such a good tournament,he made many mistakes,he played much bether in France '98

Posted by zoomp on Jun-28-2002 16:51:

IMO Marcos is doing a great job so far. hes good enough for me

Posted by Werewolf on Jun-29-2002 18:00:

only one:

Rustu (Turkey)

He saved our ass so many times during this cup

Posted by zoomp on Jun-30-2002 13:50:

OLIVER WHO???????? HAHAHAHAHAHA

BEST KEEPER : M A R C O S

Posted by SoulSupply on Jun-30-2002 22:00:

kahn chose the perfect moment to make his first mistake of the world cup! shud have been an easy take and it just pops in front of ronaldo, making him the only player to score against kahn besides robbie keane! rostu was great, marcos saved brazil a couple of times, and by the next world cup given will be the undisputed best keeper in the world, he's just pure class, just look at his save against eto'o in the cameroon match. i dont rate cassilias, good enough shot stopper, but he doesnt have the authority of a top goalie, and he doesnt talk to his defence enough, so my top five is:

1. Kahn
2. Rostu
3. Given
4. Marcos
5. Lee

Posted by Kurve on Jun-30-2002 23:21:

Kahn is still my top pick he should of held that one ball but hey everyone is human and the second goal no matter who was goaly couldnt save that goal .... Kahn is still my top player of the CUP.....

IMO Marcos should be at least second, great save in the free kick of Neuville and that shot of Bierhoff.

The best goalie is the one who you've never heard about, because of one simple reason: we only talk about them when they do something stupid Therefore, I believe the best goalie was the Turkish Omer Catkic :
1) No goal was scored against Turkey while he was the goalie
2) Nobody's ever heard about him
3) Yes, he did play - for 15 min

Seriously now: Lee Won Jae was the best one in my opinion.
