Big Ears Really Really Nice Song.

I changed the original songs around a little bit and made my own mix. I think it sounds alot better this way. I made the video too.

Listen here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrOl80v9jo0

I love this song. It's the most played song on my iTunes. It's at about 220 on the play count. I'm trying to get it out there and get more people to know about it and make it popular. And I know it's not exactly trance it might be kinda like dance or house but they are all kind of similar.... I think.

It's ite. The voice is kinda random though . Also it kinda gets too discoish so watch out for that kind of stuff, it kind of goes out of the trance genre if that happens.

yeah thanks for the advice. I know the voice is kind of random. I tried to take it out but it didn't really work. I don't know too much about trance. I've been into it for about 8 months maybe. But i've been into techno for probably 2 years.

Its definitly not house. It's just ordinary techno but theres really only 2 transitions and it just stays at a moderate pace like a regular techno song. If it was trance it would just progress all the way through the song, but it just kept its pace is all. And personally so far I don't really like techno that much since of course what I've heard besides Cybotron's Clear, it can be boringly repetitive with one or two transitions of melody with slight progression (Usually percussive). As with trance the melody supposedly always progresses through the song getting more groovier and groovier, which is the great thing about trance.

so you sped up some songs and threw them together in audacity

Posted by the_voice on Aug-12-2009 19:43:

that was shite

This reply was almost as ridiculous as the track itself. Almost.

nothing about that track is techno. nothing about trance is "groovy"

Well if its not groovy then whats another word for it.

Edit: Also that track definitly has some "techno" structure in it or else its just an electronic abomination that I can not comprehend.

Edit 2: No wait a minute groovy was the word im looking for. Your really good at confusing the shit out of people...

Edit 3: Wait wait I'm not done yet. Heres a very reasonable definition of "groove"

Definition: Musicologists and other scholars began to analyse the concept of "groove" in the 1990s. They have argued that a "groove" is an "understanding of rhythmic patterning" or "feel" and an intuitive sense" of "a cycle in motion" that emerges from "carefully aligned concurrent rhythmic patterns" that sets in motion dancing or foot-tapping on the part of listeners.

okay you're right about the groove aspect i suppose. i just feel that the genre (especially what you may consider to be 'trance') has greatly removed itself from it's origins as an anti-establishment, additive composition, arpreggiation of hypnosis and groove. yes, trance is a horizontally structured genre, filled with (again) additives and layers of rhythms. it's just that what i've heard for years now is just plain formula and nothing exploratory.

techno, on the other hand, was not created with the same sentiments. the entire approach is completely different to that thought. the tracks, individually, don't need to go anywhere because it's the dj's job to do that. and that track from the OP is not techno.

Hmm very well, Then maybe its just some fucked up collaboration. Maybe a few trance songs were cut out and thrown in there. Idk I mean after listening to it more than once you realize it doesn't seem very right.

Very nice detailed explanation btw. Something very reasonable to agree with indeed.
