-- I'm swapping my DJM800 for a Xone:92

I'm swapping my DJM800 for a Xone:92

I love my DJM800, but I've got the opportunity to swap it for a Xone:92, and I fancy a change so think I'm going to go through with it.

The guy with the 92 reckons he fancies more effects, so that seems like a fair enough reason. Only thing is I don't know him that well, and so cannot really guarantee it's been treated well - if it's not in mint condition when I go to see it then it's game over anyway.....

Anything I need to look out for? I don't suppose there are many faults with these mixers, but doesn't harm to ask I suppose.

It sounds like this person giving you a Xone:92 in exchange for a Pioneer is a complete moron. Just sayin'

The best thing you could do is just play a short set with it and see how it feels.

The Xones are so bulletproof I can't see there being any problems. Give it a quick once over and do the swap, you're getting the good end of that deal, IMO.

Wait, why is this person a complete moron? Don't they cost about the same?
I always thought that Xone:92 have more inputs, filters, and EQ stuff, and DJM800 have more effects and harmonic key stuff.

Well, the consensus here is that the 92 is better for sound quality, longer transitions, fader precision, etc. DJM-800, on the other hand, is better suited for happy-go-flanger DJ's that like to slam in tracks, powermix, etc.

Xone:92 is for Digweeds, DJM-800 is for Steve Angelos.

I would actually say that the DJM can take more beating than the Xone.

I'm guessing there's something wrong with the xone. No one in their right mind would trade a perfectly mint xone:92 for a DJM-800.

the guy has to be insane

Not really sure what your logic is here, set aside your views on which mixer is best for a second......

In the UK the DJM800 retails at about 525 more than the A&H. That's a lot of money. It's about $800.

Now assume you're in the market to buy a new mixer, some will buy a Xone, some will buy an 800. Nothing wrong with that - it's just personal preference.

All we're doing is swapping, and financially he's better off - he's paid less in the long run for the mixer he wants. I on the other hand have paid more for the mixer I will end up with. I can't really see why everyone thinks he's crazy - he wants effects, I don't anymore - everyone is happy.

As it happens, the mixers were only about 200 different when we both purchased - but still, there was a difference.

OK we were exaggerating, but still who in their right mind would trade a 92 for an 800? He comes out on top financially but still...
