Ableton Recording Issues

Alrighty...

Ive been having problems recording Line In from my Tascam US-144 into Ableton to record my mixes.

Everything works perfect but out of no-where for no reason usually around 30-50 min into the mix, Ableton just stops recording and displays a circle with a line through it. Like the no smoking signs but just a clear center.

Anyway, does anyone else have this problem when recording line in?

I would use my line in on my computer but i have a laptop which does not have one. It baffles me how my mothers PC, which is a solid piece of crap, has a line in that records fine into Ableton, but my expensive laptop can't record anything for more than a half hour without taking a crap on me.

I tried setting up Soundforge, and Cubase LE4 but i can't figure out how to record into them. Im a Cubase Noob and it came bundled with the US-144.

Any help?

low disk space?

also try going into the task menu and disable every process that you don't need. What is your cpu % @ when you record?

Checked the disk space...i have about 20 gb left so...that shouldnt be the problem.

CPU goes anywhere between 2-10% while recording...never higher.

Im going to give it another shot and see whats up.
