Warning Warning Tornado Warning For The City Of Toronto
Tornado warning: City of Toronto Issued at 6:54 PM EDT THURSDAY 20 AUGUST 2009
A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS MOVING EASTWARD THROUGH THE REGIONS. TORNADOES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH SOME OF THESE STORMS. THIS IS A WARNING THAT SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH TORNADOES ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS. TAKE IMMEDIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
6:49 - calm as fuck.... hear about the warning, walk out to my balcony to check shit out - look over to the NW direction of my balcony (i'm right at 427/qew) and i shit you not i see clouds gathering together, then touch down to the ground, almost looks like it's happening in slow motion - then rain starts flowing, and the wind is blowing it on it's side... i've never seen a storm come like that, that quick - ever.
died down a bit, but it's picking up again - and the lightning/thunder is unreal. lol
here in markham there is non-stop thunder and lightning. when i say non-stop i mean you dont really hear any silence, just a constant rumble. we are hiding in the basement.
Tornodo touchdown:
Newmarket (Eagle St and Yonge) also Royal Canadian Riding Academy on Davis Dr
Woodbridge/Maple
Town of Durham
Funnel clouds sighted
Oakville
Blue Mountain
Aurora

I just got back from my long ride on the 400.
I took video of the tornado in Woodbridge. Now I got to figure out how to get the video off my iphone. edit: Anyone know how to use SSH?
Also a lightning strike occured about 30 yards from me, it hit a powerline pole, struck loud, and sparks flew everywhere. Awesome.

Ajax went from bright and sunny to insane dark with crazy winds in like 3 mins... the storm only last like ten mins max tho. Im kinda disappointed.
The chick on cp24 makes me laugh, she just said "if you are watching this and your power is out just know that you are not alone and that it will take some time to get your power back up" um if ur power is down then how are u watching tv?
just drove 1.5 hours from kitchener to oakville
left at 545, just started to rain in k-dub
got on 401, started pouring, lightning...nearing guelph got really fucking bad, ppl slowed down to about 50kmh
decided to take hwy 6s towards hamilton to hit 403 then up...wow, in my 5 years of driving i've never EVER seen anything like it...and i've driven/seen a lot
it was dark as fuck out, like hell was around us, THICK ass lightning bolts, 3-car crashes, 4-car crashes, ppl with 4-ways on, ppl pulled over...
6s got jammed hardcore 10km before 403 so decided to head up conc 7e to waterdown and this is where the worst was
every 2 min a telephone pole right beside me would get fucked up, transformer blew right the fuck up, car was hydroplaning like crazy. i was actually scared to shit
wow.........just wow. i'll never forget this storm, one of those freaks of nature u get to rarely see

the sky is so beautiful right now.
small puffy white clouds with an orange glow coming from the setting sun and a gorgeous purplish-rose gradient sky. wow.

Took forever to drive home from Toronto to Oakville after work, but it was so awesome (especially with some nice dark tunes to go with the drive). Thunderstorms ftw!
OK, here's my clip of the tornado in woodbridge. I used a video app for a 1st generation iPhone, so pardon the frame rate.
It was astonishing seeing it in real life, the swirling, justt wow.
You'll see it up until miway through the clip, second half started dying down, but at least I got most of the tail end.
