Thanks for the comments all

This is very nice work indeed, probably the best prog track I've heard in this forum in a long time. And it's probably among the best prog house tunes I've heard anywhere in the past couple years. Keep producing, please.

Yeah, this is great stuff. I'd play this in a set. I don't think it's the best prog house track I've heard in a couple of years but it's very good.

Fantastic!

If there's one thing a lot of tunes lack these days, it's strong bass line, and you've certainly taken care of that. The melody is blissful and the percussion works very well with everything.

Get this released, seriously.

Try Tribal Vision or Spiral Trax. Both are originally psy-trance labels which in recent times have also shown an interest in bass-heavy progressive house exactly like this.

Bump. This needs to be heard by more people.

If you don't mind I'd like to re-master this. I think I could get more atmosphere, separation and width.
I would need an un-mastered version, no processing applied whatsoever.
I have one song released under the name Effero under Undermine Records.

I'm curious: why would you remaster it? I mean, just out of the kindness of your heart?

I enjoy doing it when I like a song. There is no catch.
Even if I mastered it, the song is 100% yours and you can use my master if you wish however you want.
For me it's just practice.

Cheers

Lovely stuff, well done!

Okay. It's just that this is the Internet and when you have been around it for a while, you tend to develop a natural suspiciousness towards things :P. Anyway, I'm afraid I can't share better quality samples (or anything) of the track at the moment.

How did you get that clicky percussive high-hat element? Is that a sample or did you create that from scratch?

Posted by novastorm on Sep-18-2009 03:16:

Wow, just wow. This sound just surrounds you and you quite happily suspend yourself in it for a while .. like some kind of sonic jelly .. Tell me you'll get this released!

It's a ready sample. I'm a lazy bastard and mostly use samples. I then tweak them this way and that.

Well the most important advice I can give to anyone is: practice. And then practice some more. Also read through whatever producing tips you might find from the net or anywhere else. You might not see improvement overnight or even in months but then, one day, things just click. It's a great feeling when that happens

Posted by meriter on Sep-18-2009 17:38:

Any chance I could get that sample?

I agree that this could benefit from a re-master. The bass especially needs some work. I like what you did with the rest of the track though; very good job!
