Busted iPOD

Hey I was using my ipod this morning and it worked fine but then when I plugged it into my car adapter the screen went blank and the clicking noise when you scroll on the circle pad stop clicking.

Any idea what the problem may be and how to fix it. I just updated my itunes. I called apple and they wanted 29.95 plus tax USD to troubleshoot it. Theiving bastards. Help would be much apprieciated.

Can you reset it?

i.e. hold down the menu & centre buttons for a few seconds until the screen flickers & comes back up w/ the apple logo & then returns to normal. It just reboots it, so no need to reload anything to it.

It sounds like its the hard drive .... on my classic ipod this has happened atleast 9 times ( on my 10th pod)

restoring it sometimes works and it will shortly go after that again

hopefully you have apple care ?

I've had a Mini and 2 Nanos....all of which broke soon after purchase (I'm not too careful with my gagets)...I've moved on to the Touch and a very happy with it..no problems thus far.
