Direct Connect vs. Every Other CURENTLY EXISTING File Sharing Program

I think DC is the bomb because

1. You can chat with other users
2. You can have a favourites list
3. There is a member list showing how much everyone shares along with a file description and their connection speed
4. There is a main chat

I hate DC because

1. Sometimes HUBs can be hard as #@^& to connect to
2. People cut you off
3. It takes up loads of memory

All in all I love DC cause u can have multiple sessions open for it to connect to different HUBs (that is if your computer has the memory and the bandwith for it lol)

Now that AG is done for all I use it this and Kazaa. Kazaa only for other types of music, music videos, pictures, and uh legal videos

I think SoulSeek doesn't get enough attention, I tried it a couple of days ago and in terms of available files its much better than DC. It has all of the features that DC has, as well as MORE FILES

I dont like DC because of the fact that when you connect to 1 server you only get connected with likte 500 ppl instead of hundreds of thousands that you connected with via Audiogalaxy....thats why we should use something else than DC!!!

those must be the best of all...but there is almost no trance

but you gotta check Overnet that is coming out very very soon, this week @ Overnet.com I guess or in the URL I gave above.

I like DC......its allowed me to d/l songs that I didn't even no about.......plus...the public HUBS are something......DAMN.....talk about some serious sharing......

Well I like the HUB system cause u can go into whatever place u want for whatever u need. You want Dreamcast game u can go to a dreamcast HUB and chat about dreamcast and download dreamcast, u get the picture.

i like DC because you can get alot of good new music just by talking to the users in the chat... AG didnt have this, you had to go and find good trance first then find it on AG, but on DC its just "get this song its great!" then download off of them or other users... the chat feature is the best thing on DC because your talking to TA members directly instead of going through forums which is a slower process to get songs. but i hardly look at the forums now since i get songs through DC.

the reason why you might not able to conenct to people is that some people with fast connection only have like 2 or 3 slots open... they can handle much more than that... i just have a decent cable and have 6 slots open.

What I do when I want a slot is wait, hammer them or just politely ask them with a PM . Someone had videos I wanted so I got their FTP address and have downloaded about 10 videos off their FTP with 40 more ready to download . Just ask someone politely but I usually offer them a slot first . Otherwise just be patient and wait

direct connect from my experience has been poor, i coulnt even view any files

Most people ditch DC because they say it's too complicated but if u give it time then you can really get anything off of it .
