What the fuck?

Who's running this site? Does he know I visit it? Isnt it kind of stupid to put DJ Stigma - THe Answer (The Scarab Remix), my production, on the site?

Damn shame...

I would be honored if my song was available for download on TA...

Btw, the person running this site is Swamper so if you have a problem with your song being hosted then talk to him.

Posted by Arbiter on Jun-27-2002 20:20:

Well, I can tell you that you aren't the first.. Plastic Angel visits this site, and a couple of his productions have been featured in the downloads section.

If you have a problem with it, as TeKnoHe@d2025 mentioned, Swamper would be the person to talk to.

Not the one in the dl section here.

Anyway, Airbase...yer one of my fav producers and I think you should know from being on mp3.com that this will only gain you more exposure. If people like it, they will probably go out and get the vinyl. Overall, having one of yer tracks on tranceaddict.com is going to help you a lot more than hurt you.

Posted by Zen on Jun-27-2002 21:57:

This probably has nothing to do with this thread, but AirBase, your songs are amazing genie, etc. All of them are so good

Posted by Tranz on Jun-27-2002 22:05:

I love how a producer doesn't want to see his musik posted here, and everyone attacks him. Now THAT's fucked up. Airbase... I feel for you bro. They don't know what it's like.

Posted by estes on Jun-27-2002 22:15:

horrible...an attitude like that i tell yah.... i won't even download that tune now just because of bullshit like this. i hope 'swamper' takes it off the front page and never lets another one of his productions even be mentioned. like someone said above 'you should be glad that you're getting acknowledgement'.

someone change the label of that song to
Jeep the jackass.mp3
or Aibase the asshole.mp3

LOL
Thats pretty stupid man.
Airbase should make music for us: clubbers, trance lovers. And for his love to trance music!!!
and not for the damn money, thats just commercial!
And no one here appriciates commercial artists. (if u want to make money just go and work in some office, or whatever)

Instead of getting engry on us, u should be proud.
Now u see that ur mission was fulfilled, we love this tune! (That is, if ur mission in the first place wasnt just make as much money as posible)
+ U'r just getting some free Advertisment for this tune, im sure that if some of us downloaded this tune from the webpage - and liked it, they will buy it on vinyl.

Posted by AC. on Jun-27-2002 22:52:

Im not sure what his point with this post was but isnt it kinda funny if he is mad about his work is getting posted here but still he d/l other ppls work here from?

So you're basically saying that if you want people to go out and buy your vinyl as opposed to downlaod the track off the net that it's wrong? It's all up to the artist and you should respect what his decision is considering he did make it.

If Airbase doesnt want his tracks for download and instead wants everyone to buy the vinyl, then I dont think its right that he just downloads everyone elses stuff (e.g. DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, & Armin Van Buuren tracks). But anyway this guy is an up-and-comming producer so right now I dont think he has any tracks on vinyl.

He actually has a vinyl out, don't remember the name, saw it at my local online record shop.

But I definately agree that it's a double standard to be complaining about seing his own track at TA when he probably came there to download some new tracks

Posted by Michael Russo on Jun-27-2002 23:18:

This is one of the dumbest threads i've ever read.... "Thanks everyone" he writes in the comments page and then he comes here to complain? Meanwhile he's downloading other people's songs? And I don't see what's so "dumb" about posting this track in the download section.

Well it's stupid to thank everyone and allow it to be downloaded and now be mad about it but maybe he didn't know it was up for download here. And btw whitelabel tracks are 100% legal until they are released so you can't say that he can't complain about a released track thats on here of his and then download unreleased songs that are not on any label. Who knows what he does on here and who cares, I'd just close this thread to stop an upcoming flame war from happening lol and then he'll just PM Swamper.

Posted by Nadi on Jun-27-2002 23:39:

Did he ever say he came here just to download tracks? Unless he did, then you guys need to stop getting angry. Secondly he may love the music be he also needs to make a living, mp3.com is different then here in that it advertises his cds/vinyls etc and probably pays him too. Even if you dont agree with these points or his opinions you still need to respect the fact that he has the right to be angry

these type of attitudes could make trance addict just another memory like napster & AG. you have to respect the artists... or they can come down on you. i wouldn't keep this bullshit up... no website is safe anymore.

Many Greetings,

Haha you must either be an idiot , or someone apparently too proud of himself thinking he's the #1 producer of all the times , to do such a lame lame lame LAME-ASS comment . You have the chance of your life to see one of your tracks featured in one of the main pages of this site and yet you're bitching and moaning about it ? Damn i can't believe this , what the world has come too ...

I honestly don't think we should be flaming him until we know the reason why he doesn't want the track on the page if it's "because I need all the money I can get" then get the torches and pitch-forks and we'll send the angry mob but until that time I'd suggest people stopped flaming him.

Posted by Arbiter on Jun-28-2002 00:48:

I had a feeling this would turn into a flame war about mp3s...

Look, if the guy doesn't want his track featured on the site, it's really his business. I don't know what his reasoning is, because I agree that the exposure could only sell more vinyls, but that doesn't really matter.

The fact is that his productions are his property, and he has the right to have them distributed in whatever manner he sees fit.

I can sympathize with those of you who feel his attitude is shallow, but if you don't respect his right to have the opinions he has and to ask swamper to abide by them, then you're only detracting from whatever valid points you might also be making.
