Stereo Nightclub Montreal Fire Part Deux -- Any thoughts?

It is confirmed to be arson. The plot thickens. Really sucks because i was looking forward to spending at least part of the weekend in montreal for their 5 day reopening.

I heard the news earlier this morning and was completely/utterly shocked.

At first I laughed because I didn't believe it was/COULD be true but then found out it was again - ARSON.

I'm very deeply sadened and depressed as this was a temple to me, I LOVED stereo. It was the one club I felt the best vibe at.

I truly don't think it will re-open again after this which is devestating to me. I was so sad I couldn't be there this weekend for the re-opening party and even more now-so that it is burned down.

RIP (((Stereo))), you will be forever missed...

Very saddened by this. It's my favorite club in North America. Montreal needs that place. It's a world class club and a tourist destination. Afterhours in Montreal isn't the same without it.

I heard about this early this morning and was definitely saddened. Especially b/c I've never had the chance to check it out, and likely never will now. What a shame.

Ive been told by an extremely reliable source that at least some of the artists booked if not all will be playing at a different venue. I wont say where though as that is up to the people involved. But do still make that trip to montreal if u were going!

HA for sure

So glad I opted out of Mtl for the weekend.

what's this Circus vs. Stereo business?

Posted by kaniz on Sep-01-2009 19:41:

Enough going on in MTL this weekend during the day that my weekend is far from ruined. Stereo re-opening was a nice perk, but not my primary draw.

Sucks that this happened, but no regrets over my MTL plans this weekend.

That's a can of worms you shouldn't open.

What else is going on Saturday and Sunday nights?

well that was in the comments in the link
I got curious

Not too sure what my night-plans are now. Might check out Salon Daome or La Panthere noir Sat night. Don Glaude is at Parking Sunday night.

Once I'm in from work I'll try and find some other stuff to do, but more in a 'go with the flow' mindset. My Fri/Sat nights were pretty open to begin with - was only planning on Stereo Sunday night anyways.

very sad to hear about this cuz scotty put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears in to the reopening. i hope they catch the punks that did this and cut their balls off and hang them in the street.

Posted by Sly_Guy on Sep-02-2009 01:08:

this is terrible....stereo was one of my all-time favorite places to party. The sounds, the vibe, were unequaled anywhere else. I was happy when boa opens, and sonic too, both of those clubs brought stereo a little closer to home, but neither of them ever completely measured up to the atmosphere stereo provided.

Posted by StereoPrincess on Sep-02-2009 01:42:

i think it's quite obvious that this is biker wars. not club wars. a certain biker gang runs stereo, another rival gang wants to hurt them, they burn down stereo over and over again.

If you only knew buddy......

This fucking blows. So sad to here

I still have never been to stereo and was really sad when it caught fire the first time because I thought I'd never get the chance to party there. To have my hopes brought back up by re-opening after so much doubt.. only to be dashed again
