This forum - seems to have gone dead.......

I have noticed that every once in a while this forum goes really quiet.

Anyone know any rhyme or reaqson why it should do this?

beacuse vinyl is dying

Probably because in the production forum there are a lot of questions and feedback continuously being asked for or given. Dj'ing is much easier and there is far less technicality involved in it. The intricate aspects that do exist most don't care about.

dj'ing killed trance?

so why do most producers who try to dj fail at it?

Posted by Demoted on Sep-02-2009 14:32:

Because a lot of people post the same types of threads over and over again

The first "this forum is dead"-thread was created about five minutes after the forums were born.

This forum definitely is dead, I've seen it go a day without a single post.

Though I come back every day. Why... I don't know just in case a new thread pops up or someone has a question I might be able to help with.

Stupid I know.

It's nearly like walking to your fridge to see what food you have 3 or 4 times a day when you know you have nothing in there that you can eat. I still go back again and again to see if I can put together something, anything!

I can only guess because I will always be dj first producer second but I'd guess because their heart isn't in it? I doubt there are very many people that are extremely passionate about BOTH dj'ing and production. I think people favor one or the other in almost all circumstances.

its dying beacuse none of u guys can answer my questions.
look at the traktor duo thread...
just retarded replies to a simple question.

Whining about a problem isn't going to solve it.

Well, technically, it is one more topic than there was before. So, by definition....

edit- joke failure... just realized you were replying to the person above you.

its no problems, its a simple question which i dont bother looking for answers for myself and hoping that others can do for me. isnt that the whole point of forums?

There are always slow periods on any forum. It'll pick up again sometime.

That's internet forums for you.
I admit there are some characters here, but I wouldn't say that people here are retarded. There are some quality answers to be had from a number of members.

On a different note, I tend to stay away from the computer DJing questions as I simply don't do it and for the forseeable future wont be.

I have been here for sometime, and I have seen a number of people come and go, but I guess I get drawn into the forums every once in a while. I just like it here.

cheers
Nem

I'd hypothesize that most people pop in to get opinions on a certain piece of equipment, be it mixers, decks, speakers, headphones, etc.

Most of the equipment involved don't change often, and just about every new equipment thread gets told to 'search'- the information is already up somewhere.

Usually there will be spikes of activity whenever something is about to get released. During the downtime, most everyone is content with the stuff they have already. Probably not a lot of people are looking to buy DJ equipment right now.
