Helix (DNA Lounge): Lahbug, Friesen, Means+Function, & Lyndsay! - 09/11/09

I'm hoping I can get some love from my fellow TAs for a brand-new and very last-minute party we're having at DNA Lounge on Friday, September 11th from 10pm-2am. It's gonna be a great night of progressive and trance from some of us newcomers to the scene, as well as a kick-ass house set by Lyndsay!

Free before 11pm and only $5 after that -- recession-friendly partying all night.

Hope you can all come out and make our debut party a success!

See you there Brian. DNA is a great venue. Hope they set up the DJ booth on the front stage for you guys.

Yeah, I haven't been to DNA in ages either, but it's gonna be a great time next Friday. Working on getting some go-go dancers involved as well. Nothing like pulling an event like this together in one week!

Outstanding! Everyone should come. At least for next Friday, DNA lounge will be completely awesome.

September is a good time to throw new EDM parties since the regular venues/parties seems to hold off on having Big DJs until the LovEvolution Week. Have Fun!

I just updated the flyer. We've got the Electro Dolls coming to dance for the event!

Yep, we're doing a main stage setup. Can't have the dancers down there all by themselves.

So I'd generally agree with you Dave, but with only six days to put together and promote an event nobody has ever heard of (without paper flyers), it makes sense to advertise the dancers. It's about turning out people and at least allowing the venue to break even, so if adding them to the flyer will encourage some of their 200+ FB friends to come, I think it's a good idea.

If we'd had a week or two more to put this together, there would have been other ways to make up the numbers without clouding the flyer. I'm all about the music and DJs, but we need a crowd show up to the event.

Just to be clear, I'm not arguing with you -- I just think things are a little different when you've got practically no time at all to promote. I wish you could be up here to check this out tonight; it's looking to be a great night.

I removed my post cause what I said was coming out wrong and very negative. I'm on little sleep right now and grouchy...why I deleted it. Rather do that and watch what I say than cause a lot of issues.

You took it well though. Makes me wonder which version of my post you read, because there were about five different ones haha.
