Evolution of house music documentary (youtube vid link)

Based on a discussion in another thread I thought this would prove interesting its something my teacher showed to the class in music history class. I really liked it.

Sometimes I wish I could have been a part of the dance music scene then. Things seem so lame to me now. Instead of hardware synths, turntables, and vinyl we have VSTs and MP3s. Yay! What amazing technological wonders we have. We can turn "virtual" knobs on a screen. We can download two hundred vaporous gigabytes of music and then never listen to most of it, because tracks are as common as dirt and about as valuable. We can go out to clubs and hear the latest compressed-to-fuck tune with a fun riff that will be forgotten inside two months. What fun.

I think I should have been born in 1970 or so.

Do they mention Basement Jaxx here? If not I don't want to see it. ^_^

+1 Imagine taking your latest track to a big vinyl cutting shop having them pay you $500 for it and then overnight being the next house sensation part of a movement must have been exiting.

I have some wbmx mixes! Bad boy bill is bad bass back in his hey day! BTW that documentary sucked!
Look for a about TB-303 and tr - 909 documentary! If it was not for Roland they may not be any house music!

Sounds so much more exciting than having an MP3 uploaded to some digidownload site.

Maybe that's just me, though.

I know having little tracks for sale online is no where near as exiting as i thought it might be still when someone buys one it does feel nice.

I dled this a long time ago then joined all the parts in a video converter. It's a really great documentary, if only it was on DVD. I think the videos have little parts missing in between them
