That's some fucking fine police work right there. Lets drop a little girl off at home, alone. Brilliant.

The point of her riding on horseback was to center stage the obviously ludicrous pick up policy by the school. Instead that website is focusing on whether she should be able to pick her daughter up on horseback.

Glad people go to college to get degrees in journalism.

Haha I know. I love how they refused to let the girl go home with her own mother, but they leave her alone at home. Brilliant.

She should be glad the god creatures didn't take her baby off to the CPS.

Indeed.

I think it's awesome that (probably after being fed up with the ever decreasing levels of journalism here) the government finally decided it was not necessary to have a degree in journalism to be a reporter in Brazil. I thought that was an excellent move, and I really hope that, at least where scientific journalism is concerned, they're going to hire some actual scientists to do the reporting from now on. As for the rest, it seems to me that the actual goal of journalism (in pretty much any language I've ever read) is to be able to say the most you can about the least you know.

The old media system is a dinosaur on the KT boundary. It's why they are trying to destroy the new media system: citizen journalists, and independent news media outlets.

Not here - hooray for order (or lack thereof) and progress

wtf? they give the kids to their parent one by one? shit I would have ridden a horse too, that's gotta be expensive to keep your car running for so long.

Posted by inazuma on Sep-09-2009 13:11:

What is the point of that school's policy of releasing students only one by one and making parents wait up to two and a half hours to pick up their kid?

Heaven forbid people have other stuff in their life to attend to after school.

Once official school hours are over, students should be free to go as they please except in the cases of disciplinary problems, which it doesn't seem was the case here.

The mother on the horse may look silly but she has a point that it's an absolutely stupid waste of time and gas to sit there in a car for that long waiting for your kid.

And on the horseback riding end, I'm also willing to bet the accident/injury rates on riding horses is probably actually lower than those of riding in a car.

Stupid policework for #1 going along with the school's BS and #2 leaving the kid ALONE, but the biggest douchebag award goes to the school policy and the school's principal.

I support this mother's actions. What a ridiculous policy.

I am her parent not the principal. Thisis just another case of the american people giving up their rights. If we keep letting the goverment take rights just because they don't apply to us, whose rights do you think thet will take next? I think we should impeach that crack pot of a president and the people take back this country.

"Deirdre said Johnson refused to release her daughter, and in fact, pulled the girl back from her mother. "(Johnson) would not turn loose of my daughter's hand," Deidre told WJXT."

Who wants to have their kids being physically detained from your parental control because you as a parent are on a horse?

Seriously; did we just not spend the last fucking 100 years going from horse back to cars, and now this fucking Principal Johnson thinks it is some unsafe fucking ordeal to ride on a gat damn horse?

What really tops my shit off is that the police officer leaves the girl home alone.

Think of how the story could of gone. The mom gets back home and finds her daughter dead, all because some fuck of a principal did not let a mother pick up her daughter and the police officer leaves the little girl home alone.

What the fuck were they thinking?
