Little help here!
Hello guys.
Im trying to see what clubs are here on San Francisco, im Dj/Producer from Chile and i want to try here to show me to the scene here.
Little help please people!..
Thanks
Kled Baken
The two big EDM Clubs are Ruby Skye and 1015 Folsom.
1015 is mainly Saturday nights. Ruby Skye has big nights on Fridays (by Spundae) and Saturdays (by Mixed Elements). Friday nights at Ruby Sky tend to have more trance DJs or other DJs people on here like, but that's not to say Saturday nights there aren't good. They have plenty of great night. More of a tourist crowd, though.
1015 has a more old school feel as far as venues go. More about a lot of lights, decent sound, a killer DJ booth setup (best DJ booth around, IMO), with the floor and walls all black. Nice and dark. Taj (who runs Saturday nights there...he posts here on TA a lot!) is known for bringing in DJs who are up-and-comers and haven't played out before (he was the first to bring acts like Sander van Doorn, Ali & Fila, Roger Shah [well, his second gig ever], etc to the States).
Other venues worth keeping an ey eon include Mezzanine, Mighty, Slide, Anu, and others. But you see more of an occasional big night at those places.
Outside of that, SF has several other venues where events are going on all the time. It's one of the premier cities in the world as far as EDM goes, largely because of the people -- generally some of the friendliest in clubland. As a newcomer to the city, I would work on getting to know people (like TAs) who you can tag along with as you try out new venues....cause if you go to a venue on the wrong type of night, you might come out with the wrong general impression of the place.
How long are you in SF for? I hope you are around for the weekend of LovEvolution (aka LoveFest aka Love Parade). Love Week is basically Sept 30 - Oct 4, with the main parade/festival/afterperties on Saturday, October 3rd.
There is a thread stickied at the top of the West Coast forum page regarding LovEvolution. Also be sure to check out www.sflovevolution.org, www.loveafterparty.com...and[ just to do a little plug, check out www.spundae.com as the group is throwing a couple events that weekend including the official afterparty and a pre-party (and more tba!).
On top of all that, check out the San Francisco Events Calendar for all the parties which is updated constantly. It's even blossomed into its own site, www.sfedm.com.

I would actually just post your mixes on here (in a new thread -- be sure to include a tracklist and all that info). You might be amazed at how many people pay attention to this board who run things within the scene in SF.
It's not as easy as just contacting someone asking to play in SF. SF has A LOT of DJs and producers so you really have to work on getting to know people who can introduce you to the right people. Getting to know people on TA isn't a bad start, because a lot of people here know some of those people! You gotta make an impression first and this is a great place to do so.
As far as producing...a lot of people on here have found their productions on various labels from armada to vandit to anjuna to Elite to Coldharbour to countless others.
Good luck! I recently moved to LA, but SF is my home (and I'll be back in a couple years hopefully) and it's scene is unbelievable. Club parties, daytime parties at the Golden Gate Park, underground parties, etc. It's all there, just gotta watch out for it. LA isn't so bad as far as parties go, either. Just I miss the SF people more (TAs from LA are cool though... :-p) I'll be up in San Francisco for LovEvolution weekend running around.
