Children Of The Stars (Dark Progressive)

A new mix, this one in a completely different spectrum than my last with an obviously much darker feel and lot's of tribal drums. Goes from 140 bpm to a low of 120.

Shapeshifter - Flood
Tijuana - Groove Is In The Air (Unreleased Moonface Mix)
Bedrock - Heaven Scent (POB's Seismix)
L.S.G. - Into Deep (Clubmix 1)
Francesco Farfa Meets The Pleasure Team - Tribe 'n' Trance (Voyager Mix)
Delerium - Innocente Falling In Love (Deep Dish Gladiator Remix)
Space Manoeuvres - Quadrant Four
Moonface - Children Of The Sun (Original Mix)
Spooky - Little Bullet (Live Version)

Children of the Stars

Any feedback or comments are appreciated, thanks.

Interesting concept to slow speed down over time.

I know most tune in here, and all are good.

Will check it out later and let you know my thoughts.

mmm prog. looks good, i'll check this out.

Yeah I wasn't sure at first but I think that the gradual slowing down while still maintaining the energy throughout ended up working pretty well.

Self-indulging bump lol

Sure, I'll do this.

Hey I think you forgot to match the beats on the first mix there...

Posted by ziptnf on Sep-16-2009 15:01:

Hey, so I'm listening, and this first transition wasn't beatmatched, thus sounding pretty terrible. The sound is pretty good, I just hope your transitions pick up This third track is pretty good, the mix into it was a little rough, and it seems to click and lag during the actual song. Not really sure what the issue is.

The rest of the mix was pretty good, nice proggy tracks with a hint of darkness, but nothing that really stuck out for me. The sound was good, though, so nice work!

Yeah I honestly have no idea what happened there on that first mix.

I knew I was going to start with Flood and had a bit of a hard time finding something that would mix well with it due to it's odd tribal beat, but when I set it up and tested it with my cue's it sounded okay. Not great, but a hundred times better than that!

As someone who is as OCD as me about transitions, I basically have to mute my own mix for a minute there haha.

Thanks for the comments ziptnf, and thanks to everyone who's downloaded it! Hope you guys are enjoying it as much as I do.

So Jay did you ever give this one a try? And if so, how'd you like it? Besides the drunken/fucked-up-cue first transition?

I forgot how much I loved Shapeshifter - "Flood." Haven't heard this one in forever.

Just started listening to the mix and will report back when done. :-)

Nice mix, Lews. The decreasing tempo was interesting, especially because the intensity of the set seemed to increase rather than decrease over time. I had actually never heard the "Live" version of "Little Bullet," I think it may be my favorite mix now that I've heard it. :-P

i did download it but i have not given it a go yet. I promised , and i will don't worry

Thanks!

Yeah I was playing with some ideas on this one, the BPM goes down while the intensity goes up. I think it ended up sounding quite nice, personally haha.

The live version is definitely my favorite and yeah, you got to love Flood. Finally got that baby on vinyl!

Again, thanks for listening mate, glad you enjoyed it!
