Trance of Today

So I absolutely love trance music, it gives me meaning in life. I come on this site, I hear about shit going on back in 1999, 2000, 2001. Wtf is going on today?

What are the hot trance acts of today (last 2 years, 2007 or forward)? Why was music so much better 9 years ago? Whats going on today? Who are the new and emerging artists? Whats up?

Where is the hottest fcuking shit I can find in trance today?

I like a lot of Mango's stuff, for example, "Friday Coffee", and "She Was Here"... But damn man.

I listen to Paul Oakenfold's "perfecto presents another world" and I am blown away.

What can blow me away today? What is the hottest fcuking shit in trance right now? Music that will change my life?

You'll probably find what you're looking for in the psy-trance realm. Give John '00' Flemming a shot.

Be that as it may, it's also well populated with people who are fully willing to provide sincere recommendations and suggestions; so while there are probably better places to be looking, TA certainly isn't a terrible one.

It's also filled with idiots who thinks Andy Blueman is some kind of messias.

Posted by Subtle on Sep-13-2009 03:17:

I think trance today is better than its been in a looong time, its just SO MANY tracks out there now, that its impossible to hear it all, therefore people check out only the most popular releases which almost always are shit.

You have to dig and find the tracks and artists that makes trance that you like.
Find the DJs or artist that makes or plays the music you like, because i can guarantee you that there is the same amount of quality tracks being released today as it was ten years ago.

J00F has definitely kept me interested in trance, but other than that it's it's been in a pretty stale state for a while now.

And to all those ignorant fanboys complaining about elitists on this site, if you don't like it why are you here? Fuck off to trance.nu. It's simple logic really. If you can't find what you're after in one place, find another place.

I don't go to some heavy metal forum and start posting how shit their music is because I dislike it. In the same sense I don't join trance.nu and complain about the beloved "trance" you all "DIE!!!" for. I participate in places where I have common interests. In this case, I repeat, you retards should fuck off to trance.nu.

The true fact is a lot of the 'elitest bastards' speak the truth and the people who haven't got a clue don't like it, there completly unaware and ignorant of trance pre 2005. Its not even comparable, you listen to a set from 2000 and every track is great, you listen to a set today and its full of generic shite without a decent track throughout the 2 hour mix.

To be honest, if you are new to Trance, and you really enjoy it then if you really put the effort in, your in for a treat.. Just download some of the albums / sets / tracks from 98 (or before..) - 2003 and enjoy. Its in a different league.

If you don't... Your missing out!

i like some stuff by ferry tayle... that's about it. wish it wasn't the case, but it is.

when it comes to trance, i'm pretty much stuck in the same time period as everyone else.

I really don't understand why people get their panties in a bunch because someone doesn't like the same stuff they do anyway. Who the hell cares? Just listen to what you like, whether it be cheesy crap or trendy plink-plonk bullshit.

there is nothing wrong about people not liking what other people like, it's ok to recommend something different, or at least say why you don't like it. but constant ranting on how only the stuff you like is good and everything else is shit is just annoying.

what is the point of this:
"Trance has been in a shite state since Robert Miles released Children

Bye!" ?
very helpful.

and stop treating everyone who likes trance like a bunch of ASOT fanboys, cause many of you are no better in knowing new trance then them.(don't get me wrong - i know that you all have found something that you enjoy more, and that's just fine, but if you have nothing to say then just stay out of it),
or like they have never heard anything older then 2005, because most of them have.

75% of the people who really enjoy trance hate ASOT and radio-trance. yes there is a lot of crap in trance scene of today but you just have to give some effort to find stuff that suits your taste.

guy asked for some good new tunes, tell him whats good without saying "lady gaga" "trance is shit" "noob" and useless shit like that.

What I was trying to suggest was listening to some of the trance from the past where the quality of the tracks was at its best. I think some of the people introduced into trance don't realise the gems they have missed out on...

The fact is people may like it, but if you don't suggest digging deep into the archives they might miss out.
