I've worked there last summer and been there 2 or 3 times already in the past few weeks. It's not that bad. Psyclone (or however you spell it) is amazing.

I went there just recently. It's not that bad, especially some of the new ones (Cliffhanger, Shockwave and Psyclone). Would be better if they juiced up those three instead of running them on such tame programs. Coasters really suck... especially after going to Cedar Point, the coasters at Wonderland can't compare at all

ya know what really sucks tho .. even the other Paramount parks in the states totally KILL Wonderland. Wonderland hasn't built a new coaster in like 8 years ! saaaad!!

How ridiculously sad and true, lol. Paramount King's Island is probably the next closest Paramount park and it kicks Wonderland's ass. One of its coasters being the tallest wooden coaster, the only wooden one with a vertical loop ...
Now who's insanely dumb enough to pay the regular price to go to Wonderland?

Haha... who in their right mind would pay full price (which is around 40, 50 bucks or so.. for park admission and to go on rides).. First of all.. just buy a park admission ticket which is around 20-30 bucks.. they don't stamp your hand but instead stamp your ticket. Right when you walk into the park put the ticket on your hand while it's still wet so it leaves the mark on your hand.. and your safe.
If that doesn't work... and someone does catch you "WHERE'S YOUR STAMP!!!"... (like that would ever happen anywaze) you just say that you were in the water park all day and it came off. BIG DEAL.. haha.. I've never paid full price, and never will..

they take 40$ out of a person on admision.. $12 on food... $8 on parking.. and excpect the person to be happy..

Pays there workes only 6.45$ and gives them crapy work hours.. with ugly jobs.. 12 hour shifts... cleaning up pisses, throw ups.. menstrations.. smiling and being HAPPY to ppl as they spit on you.. for there bad day.. as you had to deal with 4 of them already..

They say Wonderland is happy how can you be happy after Cranky kids/perents... ride shut downs.. Pissy bitchyness.. Fights.. drugies alcaholics... throw ups.. and Menstration..

you still gona like wonderland for the amuzment..

but here's the lowdown anyway and some more Wonderland Bashing...

SixFlags in Darien Lake - New York is located in Bavaria which is about 15-20 min from NIAGARA FALLS. In that park they have standups, inverted, upright, and wooden which are all equivalent and better than Skyrider, Top Gun, Dragon Fire, and Minebuster. And they also have the Superman ride which is a 210ft drop higher and longer than any rollercoaster at wonderland. You can basically do this park in one day and that i mean LEAVE Toronto in the morning and be back that SAME night. Many people do not realize the vicinity of this park and often feel that Wonderland is their only option of a good amusement park in the summer.

Now there are also Six Flags parks in New Jersey, and Chicago which are all 1 day's drive from Toronto. But you're probably going okay why would I want to drive all the way there for an amusement park? Well because these parks all have coasters that are 200ft+ drops that go at over 70 mph and some use magnetic induction. They also plan on building more coasters every other year to compete with the surrounding parks. And let's keep in mind that Wonderland has not built a rollercoaster since Top Gun which was 8 YEARS AGO !! The park is WAY past due for a new coaster. Most other parks out there already have inverted coasters that seat 4 abreast with 200 ft drops and 72 mph average speeds.

And here's to rub it in even more... Amsterdam has a Six Flags park called Mysterland which they have a coaster that's better than anything we have at Wonderland. And let's not forget their little music venue in the park as well Eclipse Hall... I'm sure many of you have livesets of DJ's playing from there. Hrmmz.. Marco V, Jean, Gielen, etc. What do we get ?? EC @ Wonderland... pfft.

Oh yea and let's not forget about the Busch Gardens park in Williamsburg, VA which is about 2 hrs from Washington DC. still a one day drive from TO. They only have the world's largest and fastest inverted steel coaster and 2 of the world's largest steel upright hypercoasters all having 200+ ft drops.

If you don't know how bad Wonderland REALLY is .. take it into comparison with the other Paramount Parks such as King's Island. You can ask Bizz all about it.

And last but not least CEDARPOINT which is probably the Rollercoaster Mecca of the world in Cleveland. One coaster there Millenium Force: 300 ft drop @ over 90 mph. Hrmmz.. Cleveland is 5 hours from Toronto, HEY isn't that about the same distance from here to MONTREAL ? :P

Finally let me just give u a small bit about relative heights. The highest drop at Wonderland is the Bat which is about a 160 ft drop.

Anyone up for a road trip this summer ? :]

ps. oh yea, all these parks have CHEAPER admission than Wonderland... :]

I agree with you that Wonderland is sub-par in the coaster department, they've been lazy with the investments plain and simple. It's definitely the worst Paramount park that I know of from the coaster side of things (though they're the best in the "other" rides department because of stuff like Shockwave, Psyclone, Cliffhanger and so on...)

All that said I'd be surprised to not see them install something large in the next year or two...it's really overdue and it should be a monster when it does go in.

I do have to say one thing though, none of the parks you listed have cheaper admissions than Wonderland other than maybe Darien Lake. Six Flags has a general chainwide gate price of $40 USD to get in. Granted, you can get a season pass at the smaller ones for $60 USD which is good for free admission into all of their parks worldwide but you'll still have to pay parking fee (about $8 USD on average) and for the overpriced food, etc. Cedar Point is also around the $40 USD gate now.

And as far as the road trip goes, nothing sounds like more fun than a group of Trance Addicts being combined with an amusement park IMHO

on another note, apparently Six Flags bought La Ronde on Ile St.-Helene in Montreal.

.. in fact you guys really shouldn't be complaining about Wonderland, since its already 100x times better than crappy old La Ronde.

haha oh yea totally forgot about that LaRonde buyout ! wells the park is only gonna get better now that it's under Six Flags new management. They'll put a Superman in every park and then futher build more coasters according to the park theme ..

can't wait for their new ride .. "The Separatist" hehe :P
