Biggest crowd respose songs?

What trance song do you play when you're going for the biggest crowd response?

You're doing it wrong.

You must be one of those dj's who's too caught up in his own musical agenda that he never looks up to see that he's actually cleared the dancefloor.

I've seen these dj's before, they play one song that does get a crowd resonse, people come to dance, and then they just keep going back to the same boring music they were playing before, either to oblivious, or too cool to care.

you cant just compile a list like that and then play it to a crowd. like shaminii said, you're doing it wrong.

More importantly its the structure of a set and when you drop that so called big tune in. The same track may get a different response if played at a lower BPM or at the beginning of a set all about placement and the crowd reaction to what they are enjoying....

Any hard core\happy hardcore\gabba will get the biggest response.

Definately correct on this one! its all about timing, as are the sequences in each individual track. Timing is everything. So although song A (big tune) is the same physical sound, it wont produce the same effect if mixed at a wrong time!

Anyway, Prosper - Purple Fish / On Wheels or Nicholas Bennison - Exocet (Album rework) definately work for me.

From personal experience when out clubbing, Three Drives - Greece 2000 takes the cake. I've never seen the crowd jump so enthusiastically as when that song drops.

Oh and Ferry Corsten - Punk is always good for that pseudo-vocal touch.

You do need peak time tracks, but a good set consists of flow, originality and timing, these are basic principles after beat matching. So in that respect he is doing it wrong.

Not really. The question was 'What trance song do you play when you're going for the biggest crowd response?'. He may well be looking for big tunes to play having built his set perfectly to a climaxe with his flow, originality and timing. I don't know why people would assume he is rubbish just because he is looking for some suggestions?

Moreover, there is no right and wrong way to DJ - there are occasions where your audience havnt got a clue so you have to throw big reaction tunes at them, unfortunately

IMO most chance with a track many people know like e.g. Ti�sto - Flight 643

Years ago this one did the trick, especially because of that sound at starting 2:28 : Robbie Tronco - Fright Train

Even this ancient one would do I guess, a great track for the dance floor. I still love that melody: Phase Generator - Suicide
