Summer 2009 - what's the verdict? top 3 fav events?

love it or hate it, summer 2009 is behind us� overall I thought the summer was very hit/miss! But ANYWAYS, which were some of your favourite sets/events from the months past?

● Beats Ahoy 10 (first cruise of the summer)
● Cajmere (aka Green Velvet) @ Ultra (Canada Day)
● Speedy J @ Footwork

1)Richie Hawtin @ Piknik - a random day/night that I won't forget anytime soon.

2)Loco Dice @ Footy for my bday shenanigans ..such a great night. that was the end of May .. but I think it still counts

3)Montreal Pride. another last minute adventure .. which lasted less than 24 hours .. but! it was phenomenal... but mostly bc of the people I was with.

since I only went to one party this summer I would have to say that one was the best.

I guess this is supposed to be Toronto eh? Because otherwise I have a few DEMF sets I want to put at the top of the live set list, haha.

I suppose my favourite three (not necessarily in order) parties would be:
- Chus & Ceballos cruise
- Tranceaddict party @ Footwork
- Underworld (Koolhaus)

And sets:
- [tard edit] Danny Tenaglia @ Circa
- Derrick Carter @ Footwork
- ...I don't think I can remember a third one worthy of being in the list. Like you said, mediocre summer!

Crap, it was, I've seen so much of him that I'm getting the parties all confused, lol.

It was something at Circa, now I'm struggling to remember what.


Edit: I remember now, it was Danny Tenaglia at Circa that I was thinking of. Wow, I don't know how I got those two confused, not even the same type of music.

Hrmmmm, wow - this summer seems to be a big "????" from me.

#2 - Atom Heart - sure, was more of an art installation - but still very cool

trance sort of sucked this summer

I'd have to say...in no particular order:

Chus & Ceballos Canada Day Boat Cruise: Brought to an end what was possibly the most epic few party days of my life. Was also the first time I can think of that I realized that 4-5 day weekends are just too much too handle. Guess I've mellowed out a little

Bound By Sound invade Skybar: Too me this was all about the vibe. good friends, great music and just the most perfect sunday evening weather ever. We need more Sunday evenings on the Skybar!!

Deko-ze @ Fly (White Party): This was just a random night out at Fly with great friends that turned into a relentless dance-off. We owned that balcony


it has really been a lowkey summer. Working mostly and picking and choosing nights a lot more. Boat cruises except for the first beats ahoy and Canada day have for the most part been slightly disappointing. Fun..yet not quite as fun as previous years.

i'm excited about november...

i don;t remember this summer

Didn't go out a whole lot this summer spent it up north mostly.

But:
1. Demf (boat cruise + beatport + old miami)
2. Tranceaddict party @ footwork
3. Cherry Beach any given sunday, It's becoming more and more of a party which is awesome imo but not so much in the eyes of the organizers.
