Way Out West @ Rich's Friday

Really excited to see WOW and specifically Nick Warren this Friday. Does anybody know what "Live" entails?

DAAAMN ! IM MISSING THIS!!! FUUUCK ! i gotta run a 50 miler ultra marathon in DC this weekend...

this is gonna be so badass...saw nick warren at WMC and he was just so incredible...i'm sure WOW won't disappoint...
also managed to convince five people to come with!

Warren one of the most consistent DJ's on the planet. Love that guy.

Bummed I'll be missing this.

It's a live PA...Jody is also a badass, folks, don't forget.

I'm considering making the trek from Dallas but some friends are paranoid that they will get denied entry due to not being skinny hotties, after reading some online reviews, lol. Can you locals help put their mind @ ease?

Pros:

-Randall Jones was playing instead of James Reed when I got there
-Way Out West tore it up

Mild Criticisms:

-The volume got a tad above the distortion threshold..but wasn't too overbearing


Cons:

-Some dumb motherfucking drunken/drugged piece of shit wanted to fight me for no goddamn reason. I tried to diffuse the situation and find out what the hell his problem was, as being a DJ I am not the kind of guy to kill the entire vibe. Very fortunately for him, several people in the crowd separated us after he decided to shove me. I wanted to drop him, and a few friends kept saying it wasn't worth it. The whole thing got my blood pressure up and killed the whole buzz Way Out West had going for me.

I tell ya...that's the last fucking time this shit happens. The next mother****** that pulls this kind shit is getting sent to the emergency room or the morgue. I'm trying to remind myself it was a good night up until then, but he killed it. I wish like hell I coulda caught him on the street. Whatever.


Good seeing everyone, it was fun while it lasted.

Brittany and I showed up after a good round of beers at Slick Willies and that nice ass-kicking she gave me at pool.

Good seeing Cory and Matthias again. I'm slowly trying to get this girl into the scene so bare with me. So far so good.

Came from Dallas and already back home again, WOW were pretty damn good. I think I prefer their PA sets from 2004 but this one unveiling the new album as well as the chunkier remixes of past tunes wasn't bad at all.

Sorry to hear about the fight...I'm glad I evaded that moron.

To the so-called Scottish chick, Sarah, who engaged me in conversation with an inviting smile...what happened to you?!

That sucks hard. I've gotten that vibe in Texas more than anywhere else I've ever seen music.

Don't know what it was...but I guess it was just one of those nights...I think it was my favorite event ever...not a single song that bored me...

I believe the first tune was "Surrender." The second tune escapes me...probably "Only Love."

True, but I aslo don't need the legal expenses, police record, prison time which would have otherwise resulted from me leaving him for dead or half-dead with a club full of witnesses.

Crazy night, my gf was dancing on the platform and she was pulled off TWICE by two seperate drunk chick that got up and were dancing and lost thier balance and took my gf down with them. The second time she spained her wrist bad, still swollen but thankfully not broken. Stupid drunk bishes wanting attention and hating on my gf cause she can dance to it...

hmmm... my sister was up there for sometime, but my sis knows how to dance so probably wasn't her

I was standing by one of the platforms and some girls were likely lucky that I acted as a barrier (precarious positioning comes to mind). A few other girls weren't so lucky later that night when they were seen to be falling to the ground. They seemingly got up without injury, so I'm wondering if that was the first incident with your girlfriend.

I think the operative word here is "drunk." Drunk chicks (or dudes) have no bizness mounting on that platform.

Yea there were a few incidences on those platforms throughout the night with 2 of them involving my gf. Both times the other girl lost balance and pulled my gf down with them...

Still had a freaking blast minus my gf wanting to kick some ass after the second occurence.

haha, I've never heard that phrase before...but I did see a few dudes (and I don't mean the one in drag!) up there last night (one was wearing glasses...making it even more awkward) and had to shake my head.

"Julio" is a term most of the TAs that started posting around 04 to 07 are familiar with. There are several interpretations on what one actually is, based on the point of view. But basically it comes down to a male whose primary purpose of going to a club or event, is to get all dressed up (and I mean tacky, not classy) and strut around the place like he (and his Julio friends) are hot shit.

Julios can be seen with, and not limited to, greasy-hair, sometimes with glitter, dark sunglasses, loud clothing, rhinestones on chest, excessive jewerly.

Julios are not to be confused with cholos, latin kings, MS-13 or otherwise gangsters of the hispanic persuasion
