His CD freeze on him? That it?

Eh, it happens sometimes. It sucks. But what can ya do.

Unless I am seeing things wrong. I could be. It's late.

I'm not a fan personally, but I think he handled it okay.

I know it happens. Shit, my old laptop fried at me at Spundae. That was no fun.

Posted by Jim Carson on Sep-17-2009 08:57:

LOL. Yes, it happens. More so on 800s than 1000s if you are working with CDJS. There are also times when staff will knock the power cord out of the wall while you are spinning and that is really embarrassing and a hassle. These things happen. But I see your comedy, Woody, in that Tiesto gets paid a lot of money and trance fans treat him with a Godlike stature and then this happens. LMFAO!!!

Bad CD. Least of his worries imo. I can't believe he gets paid so much to play that song at almost every single gig.

go Tiesto!!!

He looked up, did he think it was a BIRD or something? Or did he have a connection with God and was like "what you doin to me?"

Posted by Direct on Sep-17-2009 14:58:

It wasnt that funny, woody.

I think it was more... "plz God... not today..."

The topic of this thread should be

"TOPIC FAILS"

with cd's now being used and laptops, there is plenty of room for error.

it's not like he did something to cause that..

Posted by darin epsilon on Sep-17-2009 19:18:

That was basically a sign that he should never play another trance remix of Barber's Adagio for Strings.

Posted by fupaking on Sep-17-2009 20:02:

power went out at Priveldge Monday while Tiesto was spinning.
The roof was leaking too. awful.

i think the funny part was when the guys doing the video recording started to laugh....

He kept his cool pretty well. Didn't look panicked despite the crowd booing loudly.

It took ~25 seconds to put up a new tune.

Posted by Marcus007 on Sep-17-2009 23:42:

they werent booing they were AHHHHHHHHHHHHHing

I thought 25 seconds to regain control of the situation was pretty good... and it looked like he was taking his time.

oh yeah definitely I concurred

I was referring to the blackout at ETD pop last year when Tiesto played at Cow Palace

Im glad it happened to him, hes not playing the music that made him into a star. Maybe im just made that he doesnt play trance anymore cause he used to be my favorite. He is to commercial like paul oakenfold.

He probably spent a ridiculous amount of time perfecting "Adagio for Strings" 5-6 years ago. And a lot of people are still learning about the song and/or love it for nostalgic reasons. Personally, I started getting into trance music in 2008 and only heard of that beautiful version of the song in late 2008, although I heard the original "Adagio for Strings" a long time ago. It's not ridiculous that he still plays this song, especially since most people who come to raves/clubs are high/drunk/whatever and want to hear classic Tiesto.

It's kinda sad that his cd or equipment failed on him though. Not a fail at all.

You mean his producers right? I doubt he made that song. I'm sure his team did it and he had input on it. lol
