Quick reply needed, Traktor Control CD's Vs. Vinyl
So I've landed myself a gig that's starting in 2 hours at a bar tonight that's hosting a silent disco.
Problem is I play on control vinyl, and because i've never played on cdj's with my control cd's i was wondering if there's anything i need to be aware of.
Do they react in the same way, Obviously cue, Play etc. But should i avoid using the cue? Has anyone run into problems?
Keep the master tempo switched off. I know that.
Can you hot cue?
Should i keep it on Absolute mode or relative as needle jumping isn't a problem with the cdj's.
Thanks lads.

if this was a thread about serato, i could help...but i too look forward to the response out of curiosity

Well I'm back..
Thanks for the info Freak.
Disaster struck when i was setting up my gear. For some reason the CDJ's were playing but i could hear the control tone coming through. Went over all my connections etc but no joy.
I'd never handled a cdj1000 before (in the 4 years i've been bedroom dj'ing) so wasn't 100% sure on every single setting although i thought it would have been a simple changeover of the Leads more than anything else.
Anyway, end of the day i just used the laptop to dj instead which did the trick but wasn't ideal as i don't religiously beatgrid my tracks.
Anyway, the promoters were very happy (it was a silent disco) and i've been asked back to do another one on Friday which is in a shop front window on the main shopping street in dublin which is quite cool
I need to find someone with some cdj's so i can have a go at setting traktor up on it.
congrats man, glad it went well!
Thanks mate,
I've got another gig lined up tonight supporting Japanese Popstars (irish lads who are pretty big over here) and Felix da Housecat.
Only a quick 30min unpaid gig but it's in one of the biggest clubs in Dublin so stoked to be able to play there
Quick Question about the CDJ's though and Traktor. If you want to use the looping within Traktor you'd switch to relative mode like you would on vinyl yeh?
