Dave King - Basement Sessions [Funky/Groovy Breaks/Prog/Trance]

This is the first mix I've recorded in the new basement studio, and its had an influence on the music I think. Lack of sunlight has darkened the vibe somewhat, although there are a couple of sunny moments. I've also tried to keep things funky and groovy so theres a lot more broken beats here than previous outings.

As ever, any comment, criticism or just plain abuse is more than welcome, enjoy!

1. Adam Freeland - We Want Your Soul (12" Mix) [Marine Parade]
2. Attack Release & Robosapiens - Trip (Precision Cuts Mix) [Dead Famous Records]
3. Rigor - IQG [BIT Records Mexico]
4. Break The Box - Rock The Mic [Dead Famous Records]
5. Tarrentella - Columbia (Redanka's White Powder Mix) [Seamless Records]
6. Hironimus Bosch - Gamma (Robosapiens Remix) [AUX]
7. Code Zero & Far Too Loud - Blackout (Kiwa Remix) [Exogenic Breaks]
8. Rennie Pilgrem - Rich Rule Us (BSD Mix) [TCR]
9. DJ Slater, Tegma & Duca - East Block [Echoplast Digital]
10. JDS - Purple Funky Monkey (Electrotec Mix) [TCR]
11. Union Jack - Papillion [Platipus]
12. Pop Stream - Eastern Spikes [Phonokol LTD]
13. Babe Instinct - Disco Babes From Outer Space (Santos Another Planet Mix) [Mantra Breaks]
14. Plump DJs - Rocket Soul [Finger Lickin']

I gave it a very quick preview...I'm excited for the full listen.

i feel this needs to be bumped up.

i liked your last mix alot so i felt i had to give this a listen and i was not disappointed. it was great. smooth mixing, the way you shift from four on the floor and breakbeat without dropping the energy is nice. great flow, the direction was clear and it was driving. and lastly the tracks were awesome. well done again mate.

Well played

I'll download this simply because one of the artists is called "Hironimus Bosch", possibly my favourite name of all time.

Also, montana recommended it.

Double post, but I don't think you'll complain.

Really good set. Very funky, incredible bottom end throughout and a great blend of breaks and slamming prog house. The Union Jack track stood out from the tracklist, but it fits into the set seamlessly.

Nicely done.

Loved this from start to finish, never gets dull. You manage to combine different genres with a good flow.

The opening track is ace

Thanks for sharing, will get many more listens from me

Cheers mate

cheers mate, appreciate the kind words

I do love Freeland, after seeing them perform twice this summer I was determined to get one of their tracks into a mix!

Ooooo. I am dutifully intrigued by the proposition at hand.

this needs a bump, had a couple of listens to this again. it was on an old memorycard and remembered that it was good and popped it on again. still amazing. i love the transition into "papillion" and it's all immense really.

I loved Breaks for Sally so I'll get on this right away.

Awesome, just like I was expecting. The track that stood out was a remix by one of my favorite breaks/electro artists, Far Too Loud. This song is SIIIICKKK: Code Zero & Far Too Loud - Blackout (Kiwa Remix)

Everything else ruled just like you are able to do with that high energy style of breaks that you play. Super fun, you have some of the most exciting sets that I hear on this forum. Sorry it took me two years to listen to this set but it was worth the wait
