Tiesto (Day 1 Review)

woow unbelievable...his last 2 hours was straight up banging trance over 140bpm..dropped simon patterson - always for the first time which made me so emotional... i was able to id only 3 songs his last 2 hours

marcel woods - advanced
ferry corsten - twice in a bluemoon (closed out with this)

p.s. i believe that he only played 5 or so songs from his new album.

kaleidoscope intro was so sick.. he came on during the 5th min mark right before the build up n drop..

I had a good night. Thanks to Gerard, Santos, Burak, Ravi, Konijn (Nick), Gavin for making tonight that much better. Hope all of you had a great time as I did.

Im going to agree with Burak, the last 2 hours of his set, pure trance, back to back. Simon Patterson - Always, let me just say that I dropped my camera from second floor to first floor and it still survived lol it was that good...

The only disappointing moment came the first hour when he decided to drop its not the things you say from his new album. i mean come on tiesto, out of all the fuckin tracks on the new album you decided to drop my least favorite track. way to go.

Overall it was an ok set. It didnt get no where near close to EOL status and tijs just seemed out of it after 3am by being inconsistent with his track selection. The crowd wasnt that great, I mean it was normal but Ive been to two tiesto concerts with better crowds and the security sucked, i mean they really sucked they need to chill.

with that said i think tomorrow or saturday he will do an amazing show, he either must have had jetlag or he didnt get enough motivation from the crowd.

Day 2 tomorrow.

How come you guys are always either breaking , dropping or losing cameras, iphones, etc ?

given his recent sets, i was expecting the worst, but the set wasn't bad. the last two hours were excellent, but much of the earlier portion was way too inconsistent: some of the newer tracks in his bag are great but they're interspersed with weak pop/electro tracks. if he trimmed the fat, it would've been a stronger set.

he also seemed pissed off/out of it for the latter half of the gig. maybe it had something to do with the clown that ran on stage and got bumrushed by security...

how was the sound system? I remember for tiesto in concert at hammerstein 2 years ago they really decked it out. The sound was real big and they had that pimp ginormous LED screen behind the stage. I watched a few youtube's of last night but can't tell if that's the same screen or not

the system is ace. and the acoustics at hammerstein are among the best in the city.

bro, that tracklist was the worst part of the night... the last 2 hours were straight up heaven.

Since everything is general admission, am I guaranteed to get into the standing area on the main floor even if I don't line up early?

i actually think thats one of the better tracks on that album.......LOL

Nice meeting a bunch of you last night. The set was definitely better then I expected, but I had little hope for a good night. The intro was sick afterall, definitely made for a big a room setting and same goes for a couple of the tracks from the album and louder then boom on that system was incredible, I can't even lie and I hated it when I dled it, but the vocal tracks on the album are just not my thing. As Nick stated, if he ditched the bad tracks, I would have rated this set a lot higher, and yes that last 2 hours, especially the last hour were straight bangers.

Alcohol for those who asked was $8 for beer, Only Heineken and Heineken light as the event is sponsored by them, and $10 for redbull and vodka, $12 for LI Iced Teas. Don't know the other prices. There is a merch stand in the front with mens and womens tshirts for $25.

Yes. You will. If I felt like running upstairs and downstairs all throughout the concert it was easy to do last night, you shouldnt have a problem getting onto the main floor or main balcony whenever you get in.

------ SECURITY AT THE EVENT, they were good, but they were idiots as well blaming shit on the wrong people. Hopefully Area and Hammerstein get that straightened out tonight.

The stage and the sound system was Fuckin Amazing! Plus a great set = good times

Did they send anyone upstairs and they weren't allowed to come back down? They did that to me and a few other guys last time he was there.

nope.. no1 seemed to have a issue with that..everybody was able to walk up and down.

Anyone know what this is? sounds like a liadback luke production to me..it has the same sounds as the remix he did of flight 643.
