How much do you think trance producers (Not AvB , Tiesto etc) make from their music?
Im talking about people like Fast Distance , Nitrous Oxide , Activa , Haris C , Daniel Kandi .. You know.. Basically the kind of people who provide the music for the big DJs.
But really , how much do you think these guys make from their music?
Im just kinda curious.. I was thinking its just mere peanuts.. Just like what Haris C said in a interview.
So TAs , what do you think?
Akesson got 2000 for signing "Perfect Blue". Probably alot more after it was featured on compilations etc.

Vast majority make very little. So you should get a stable and probably better-paying job and use your free time to produce or DJ. Then when you are financially secure apart from music, you can simply follow your own artistic instincts instead of being a gimp who excuses trend-following and formulaic music by saying he is just trying to make ends meet.

the money is in djing as using your productions as a platform to get your name out there.
/captain obvious.
Yes, lots of "DJs" now are simply producers trying to promote their own tracks (or tracks on their labels) and "get their name out there" so people will buy more of the records they make. They are walking, talking commercials for themselves and their friends.
it is not even about buying the records.
a busy schedule will almost always make you more money than a release, even if it lands on a comp.
Are there even any well-known DJs who are just DJs anymore?
lee burridge and danny howells have a few productions, but not that many.
there are more like timmo maas who release stuff, but have it "ghost written" or produced for them. That production or 2 gives them more bookings even if they didn't make it.
