King Best weekend of my life...met Ferry Corsten and others!

I was at Peach at the Camden Palace london friday, i am a regular at Peach, and it was the awards, with a special international unannouced DJ and Live PA. It was announced that Ferry Corsten was there, and was set to play! I was so happy. Here is what i said and got up too...

I asked for Corsten to play East West: Love i lost, but he said he didnt have it. Gouryella: Ligaya was lush, sounded like a Gouryella track, if u know what i mean. It was a black-label acetate, and there isnt many around, as we all know.

I asked him if he had with him his own 2002 mix of out of the blue, and he said there is a full version in existance, but only on acetate, with no plans for it to come out anytime soon.

Said to him that i was going to import his latest mix CD/DVD, and he said thanks

Armins mix of Seven cities was his first tune, amazing as usual, and he played Eon, Punk, and as i was flicking through his record bag (!!!), i noticed the original pressing of Ralphie B, which said the A side was Massive, and the B side was Disclosure. Interesting...

All in all a very nice man, very nice to talk to.

As well as meeting Corsten, Jan Johnson was there to sing Skydive (the tune had won an award too). She is gorgeous, has an amazing voice, and is again, really nice. I asked her about her previous songs, and she was telling about how she did calling your name etc, and i told her about what records i have of hers (Calling your name, Skydive, Flesh (Amazing live PA for it as well, mixed from skydive, i sung along the whole way!) etc) and she was impressed. I asked about her forthcoming artist album on Perfecto, which again, she was impressed about me knowing about it, and said she has worked with a few big names, as well as more unknown producers. BT was mentioned somewhere, i know that.

It was nice to meet and talk to a true idol for me. Graham Gold was funny, and him calling ME a trance anorak was so cool! Im proud!

Wink

U are a lucky man, I would have to have loved to have met Ferry personally, hes meant to be one nice guy, compaired to all the egotistic bastards in the Trance scene!!! Well Smart :P

I regretted...

first. your [lucky]

second, heres my story.

I got into trance in 99. I went to Nations in DC (United States) and remember Paul Van dyk (c) popping out of a LandCruiser.

I stood there telling my friend "Hey, that looks like Paul Van Dyk!", I couldnt believe it...

To make it better, actually getting a wave from him or some kind of acknowledgement was the best part of the nite.

HOWEVER, the bad part was I brought a newly brough CD (his album Out There and Back was just appearing) and was going to get that and 45 autographed-- BUT FORGOT the CDs in the car.

A wave from him was better. NOT to mention he spun a pretty good tight session that night and made Nations rock!

I would like to actually -next time- stop him and talk with him. I hear he is a pretty nice fellow.

Ferry. I would love to meet him as well. However its a littler harder in the states because, eh hem, those guys dont appear all the time. Trance class in itself is becoming more and more popular and I cannot wait till it takes over the club scene here. Only people will see that its more energetic, fun, and down right groovy compared to slow club/dance and hip hop scene joints. Plus it brings everybody together. Its been a while since Ive been into trance and totally love it. I couldnt ask for anything better.

UNITE!

Anyway, I wanted to take a step on the soap box... and wanted to say, you are lucky. I was back then too.
