For those not familiar... Yamaha HS80M (no sub)

Here is the room....

(I'm not concerned about the behringers as you can see those are used for dj'ing) - It's important to note that behind the red curtain is a big window. Also, the HD box is off the monitor was just a quick temp thing

Let me tell you what I did. I got into this conversation with some people on another forum, and I eventually ended up contacting the guys over at GIK acoustics to help me out. What I did was make up a diagram of my room in Visio and then emailed it to the guys at GIK Acoustics along with my expectation and budget. They have a form on their site where you can get custom quotes.

So I had several conversations with them and ended up getting all the treatment I needed for around $1,000. Received it last night and I'll be putting it up this weekend after painting. They are extremely helpful and really did a great job in answering all my noob questions and concerns.

If you are serious about getting proper room treatment, I'd recommend contacting the GIK guys:

exact measurements are important for serious room treatment. You also need to be specific about the height of the room , the type of material for floor and walls, the dimension of your table, the height of your speakers ...

not really, unless your gonna get really in to it - no such thing as a perfect room anyway even after you have all your treatment done.

Id second the GIK guys, send them a few pics and the dimensions of the room and they'll tell you what you need.
They are really good with offering you help and advice and their traps do the business

this is pretty basic stuff. Having a floor that floats would be " really getting into it" . MEasuring your speaker placement to eliminate phase cancellation is room treating 101. It only takes a few minutes and the feedback you will get will be much more accurate.

You should diagram your room and talk to the GIK guys about that. You have not provided enough information for anyone to give an accurate assessment.
